Paratta is looking for an experienced manager to join the team at our takeaway restuarant in the Arts District, downtown LA. You must love food, learning and leading. Vaccines are mandatory.

At Paratta, we focus on authentic and flavorful South Asian food, a cuisine that is highly under represented in Los Angeles. You don't need to have experience in South Asian cuisine, we'll teach you everything you need to know -- you just need to love being in the kitchen and learning!

As the Kitchen Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our takeaway restaurant. Working with the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes, while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your creativity, leadership, and attention to detail will be crucial in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff
  • Oversee and maintain our food quality, recipes and procedures
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to company standards
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and taste to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Manage inventory and storage of food and supplies
  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards in compliance with local and company regulations
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Optimize kitchen operations for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Continuously evaluate and improve kitchen processes to enhance the overall customer experience
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager or in a similar supervisory role within a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, presentation, and safety regulations
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse team of kitchen staff
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to food quality
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficient in inventory management
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Looking for something long-term, are willing to learn and want to grow within the company

On top of your regular pay, we're offering a $250 bonus if you join the team and stay on for 3 months. And every 3 months after that, you'll receive another $250 bonus. We also have a referral bonus, if you know anyone who would be a good fit to also be on the team, if they join and stay on for 3 months themselves, you'll get $100 for referring them (and they'll still get their $250 bonus.)
