Job Description

xperian is seeking a skilled Senior Platform Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our DevOps journey within a supportive and collaborative environment.

About the Role: As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our 'cloud first' strategy and working with cutting-edge technologies to drive secure and scalable solutions. You'll collaborate closely with talented software engineers and site reliability engineers, contributing your expertise in DevOps principles and automation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, deployment, and management of highly scalable and high-availability platforms.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and maintain environments, ensuring seamless integration of new features and services.

• Drive automation initiatives across all aspects of the software lifecycle, promoting a culture of 'Everything as Code.'

• Proactively identify and mitigate security threats to maintain compliance with strict security standards.

• Contribute to the enhancement of operational practices and procedures, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

• Champion innovation in all areas, including people, processes, and technology.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• Lateral thinking, reverse engineering, good problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Kubernetes (AWS EKS & EKS-Anywhere) and Cloud technologies - AWS.

• Experience with tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, Hashicorp Vault, Kafka, Redis, Jenkins

• Enthusiasm for Gen AI tooling – GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT

• Passion for automation and a deep understanding of infrastructure as code principles with a familiarity with CI tools like Jenkins and version control systems like Git

• Knowledge of monitoring systems such as Splunk, OpenSearch, Dynatrace and Grafana.

• Strong background in Linux administration, particularly with RedHat and Amazon Linux

• Programming skills and have strong interest in DevOps, Systems Engineering or Build and Release Engineering. Programming Language – Groovy, Java, HCL, Java Script, Python, Go

• Obsession for good documentation: using confluence to log changes, write procedures and instructions
