Join Sanofi R&D in Ghent as Associate Scientist Protein Production & Profiling. In this role you will be responsible for small scale NANOBODY® molecules production and purification.

About our team

Sanofi Ghent site is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to creating new antibody-based medicines called NANOBODY® molecules which are making a real difference to society. Ghent site currently has over 400 people working on the development of NANOBODY® proteins for the treatment of a wide range of diseases, including inflammation, immuno-oncology, and rare diseases.

We would love to welcome you in the PPP team, which is responsible for delivering purified NANOBODY® molecules to the platform as well as biophysical characterisation (analytical SEC and Tm determination) of purified molecules. You would become a member of an enthusiastic team of people with great team-spirit who are always ready to help each other. Main responsibilities

• Small scale NANOBODY® molecules production (in E. coli and P. pastoris) and purification (affinity chromatography, size exclusion chromatography, ion exchange chromatography) for in vitro testing
• Quality control (SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, mass spectrometry analysis) and biophysical characterisation (analytical SEC and Tm determination) of NANOBODY® molecules and tool proteins
• Performing data analysis and interpretation
• Preparation of written reports of experimental results in English
• Supporting project teams with in-depth knowledge on production of NANOBODY® molecules and biophysical properties
• As an active member of several project teams, you will be required to work effectively in a matrix structure and communicate results at team and project meetings

About you

• Degree B.Sc., in Laboratory Technology or Biotechnology (Laboratory Technician A1), B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Industrial Sciences (Industrial Engineer), Biochemistry, Biotechnology or equivalent
• Expertise in recombinant protein production and purification techniques as well as biophysical characterization is a definite plus
• Small scale NANOBODY® molecules production (in E. coli and P. pastoris) and purification (affinity chromatography, size exclusion chromatography, ion exchange chromatography) for in vitro testing
• Quality control (SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, mass spectrometry analysis)
• Biophysical characterisation (analytical SEC and Tm determination) of NANOBODY® molecules and tool proteins
• Experience with ӒKTA system
• Experience in working in sterile conditions
• Proficiency of MS Office
• Verbal and written fluency in English
