Job Posting: Head of Development Center

Main Responsibilities:

Vision and Strategy Development: Craft and implement the Development Center's vision and strategy to align with the company's business objectives. Ensure the transformation of the Development Center supports the Fit-for-Growth initiative and adheres to global and regional business strategies.

Team Leadership and Management: Oversee all Development Center staff across functions such as Formulation/Development, Analytical, and Technical Regulatory CMC. Foster high standards of expertise, integrate diverse functions, and promote a culture of innovation and results-orientation. This includes recruitment, training, and development of staff, as well as ensuring our facilities and practices remain cutting-edge.

Project Oversight and Execution: Drive the output of the Development Center, ensuring timely delivery of key projects. Collaborate with Science Hub teams and engage in end-to-end development processes from ideation to launch. Bring technical insights to the ideation process, integrate sustainability, and manage both internal and external capabilities for brand innovation.

Process Management and Resource Planning: Develop and manage the annual budget and capital expenditures. Implement agile and scrum methodologies for efficient project execution. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain high standards and ensure successful audits.

Technology Implementation: Lead the introduction and integration of new technologies or capabilities within the Center, adapting to business needs. This includes acquiring new equipment or technologies and establishing new systems and processes.

Key Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with global business partners, including country GMs, Regional Business Innovation Heads, and teams across various departments.

Ideal Experience: At least 15 years of leadership experience in Development/Innovation within the relevant scope. Proven ability to lead a multi-functional, technically proficient team, with broad cultural and business insight.

Qualifications: Minimum of a first degree, with a Ph.D. or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacy, Food Supplements, or Cosmetic Physical Sciences preferred. Proficiency in technical problem-solving and project management, with a track record of delivering innovation projects. Leadership experience in a Development Center, or a significant role within such a setting, is essential. Strong knowledge in Technical Regulatory fields and excellent leadership, communication skills, and fluency in English are required. Adaptability to work in a matrix organization and navigate complex, dynamic environments is also key.
