As Global Category Buyer Waste, you will be responsible, for the category of spend assigned, for implementing sourcing strategies according to category management strategies and leading sourcing activities across all business units at global level.
This includes activities such as, but not limited to, partnering with the internal business teams to support their objectives, assist with building project scopes, consolidate all business needs and specification, conduct Global Request for Proposal (RFP), negotiate contracts renewals, rate cards / discount schedules, and manage overall relationships with key suppliers. Main responsibilities:
STRATEGY:
- Develop and execute the global procurement Waste / Remediation strategy to create added value for our business partners and for all industrial sites
- Manage the Industrial gases category: tactical procurement management, collaboratively design and implement a procurement strategy for industrial gases
- Develop strategies improving sustainability and competitiveness
- Implement breakthrough innovation/technologies aligned latest market trends in circularity and with the global Waste / Remediation strategy across Sanofi
- Deliver savings on the commodity
- Capture market supplier knowledge, develop business cases where relevant and share it within Sanofi
- Ensure daily Procurement business such as TCO (Total cost of ownership), Market study, Risk mitigation, HSE (health, safety and environment), ESG (environmental social governance), Conformity, Quality
- Drive SRM (Supplier relationship management) with key supplier accounts
OPERATIONAL:
- Lead global negotiations and co-manage projects/initiatives across multiple GBUs/sites with key stakeholders
- Conduct root cause analysis and apply problem-solving approaches
- Onboard new disruptive suppliers/technologies while ensuring market benchmarks
- Drive supplier performance by defining & deploying SRM in partnership with key supplier accounts
- Participate in financial data consolidation when necessary for financial & saving follow-up
- Manage contracts on the commodity: negotiation & follow-up on contract execution
- Approve order placements
BUSINESS PARTNERING:
- Ensure strong coordination at different Procurement levels as well as other functions/GBUs/PlanetCare
- Maintain proficient and appropriate communication within the HSE network, the GBUs, and Procurement teams
About you
- Experience: 5+ years' experience in Procurement Maintenance experience in pharma industry
- Soft and technical skills:
- Proven track record in building and leading cross-functional teams while influencing stakeholders
- Capacity to think out of the box with a problem-solving approach to contribute to the strategy
- Results oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, notably on large data sets
- Knowledge of SAP MM module and any CMMS tool
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Trained into crisis management
- Knowledge of Pharma GMP work environment
- Good understanding of finance and legal aspects
- Flexible, receptive, resourceful, creative, and results oriented
- Proven project management
- Technical and commercial Negotiation
- Communication skills: Assertiveness, ability to convince/influence others and excellent presentation skills
- Able to quickly assimilate new information/skills
- Readily adapts to new environment, processes, ways of working
- Team player with excellent interpersonal sensitivity
- Role model in compliance and ethics
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or another relevant field
- Languages: Excellent command of both written and spoken English required (other language is a plus)
