Description
As the Data Curator at Laza Medical, you will collaborate closely with our clinical and engineering development teams to provide essential clinical insights that ensure our products meet real-world demands. Your primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of data; data includes Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) or Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE), Cardiac MRI, Cardiac CT and Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) images by following a detailed protocol, [using specialized software that labels anatomical parts of the heart] along with matched meta data.
This role requires a strong understanding of our data management system. Regular interaction with data science, clinical, regulatory, quality and software engineering teams will allow you to provide valuable feedback, playing a key role in shaping innovative solutions that benefit cardiologists, patients and clinical research worldwide. Additionally, your expertise as a qualified data curator will be instrumental in enhancing the understanding of 3D imaging. This is a full time on-site position and will require reporting to our offices located in Campbell, CA.
Responsibilities, Skills & Hands-On Experience
  • Identify, collect, and select relevant data sources from various formats and locations.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency by cleaning, transforming, and validating data.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive metadata to facilitate data discovery, understanding, and reuse.
  • Structure data into a well-organized format, create data catalogs, and ensure easy access and discoverability. Participate in company’s vision for Data Governance.
  • Develop and implement data management policies, procedures, and strategies for long-term storage and accessibility.
  • Implement and maintain data security measures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (data engineers, analysts, scientists, medical doctors) to understand data needs and requirements and communicate data-related information clearly. Communicate with vendors as requested including data deidentification companies and clinical data clearing houses.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, formats, and transformations. Understand data access, privacy and security.
  • Regularly audit data quality and integrity to ensure data reliability. Ensure data quality and validation of models.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data curation and data management.
  • Provide technical support to the team of domestic and international clinical annotators.
Education & Work Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., data science, information science, library science).
  • Certificate in imaging and or cardiology with a focus on cardiac – transthoracic, transesophageal echocardiography. Other medical imaging that is transferable.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data management, data curation, or data analysis is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in data management tools, databases, programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, C++), and data formats (e.g., DICOM, nifti). Basic AWS or GCP or Azure Knowledge.
  • Experience providing actionable input on software tools from a clinical user’s perspective, enhancing their functionality and usability.
  • Understanding of data management systems and external partnerships.
  • Understanding of DICOM images
  • Experience using Airtable to track all data for FDA submissions.
  • Python proficiency and automating interactions with given API, uploads of CSV data.
  • Comprehensive understanding of structural heart procedures, including their application in clinical workflows is a plus.
Our salary ranges are calculated by role, level, and location. Please note that your position within that range will be determined by your job-related knowledge, location, skills, experience, relevant education, and training/certifications. The base salary range for this full-time position is between $135,000 to $160,000 + equity + benefits.
