About The Role

Adonis is looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join our growing Engineering organization. Working directly with enterprise healthcare customers, and reporting to the Head of Data Platforms, you'll lead on-site discovery, own production deployments for health system partners, and deliver solutions end-to-end—from understanding pain points to designing and implementing scalable systems.

You'll work hand-in-hand with Solutions Consultants who own workflow mapping and ROI alignment with customer KPIs - your focus is the technical execution to make those outcomes real. In addition, you’ll influence the product roadmap to drive measurable outcomes based on what you learn in the field.

What You'll Do

• Lead on-site discovery and own production deployments for health system partners running Epic, Athena, and other major EHR platforms
• Write production code to connect to and extract data from customer EHR systems (Epic Clarity, Athena SQL databases, FHIR APIs, HL7 feeds)
• Deliver solutions end-to-end—from understanding customer pain points to configuring Adonis platform for their specific requirements and deploying to production
• Turn business and product ideas into engineering solutions by partnering with Solutions Consultants to translate customer workflows and KPI requirements into technical implementation
• Communicate clearly with customer stakeholders—work directly with IT teams, DBAs, and technical analysts to understand their EHR environment
• Debug complex technical issues across the full stack - database queries, API connections, data pipelines, platform configuration
• Build tooling and automation to scale deployment efficiency across enterprise customers
• Influence the product roadmap by bringing field insights back to Data Platform and Engineering teams to inform product development
• End-to-End Engineering: Prototype and develop web applications with complex interaction patterns, flexible components, and efficient backend systems using Python, TypeScript/React, and PostgreSQL.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, Customer Success, and Sales to deliver features that solve meaningful customer problems.}
• Quality & Best Practices: Ensure high standards of code quality through testing, reviews, and modern software engineering best practices.
  
  

What You Need

• Eight plus years software engineering experience with strong full-stack capabilities
• Fluency in Python and TypeScript with production experience building scalable systems
• Advanced SQL skills - complex queries, performance optimization, navigating large database schemas
• Ability to turn business and product ideas into engineering solutions - comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and shipping quickly
• Production experience building connections to external systems and working with customer data environments
• Clear communication with customer stakeholders - comfortable working directly with customer IT teams and navigating enterprise organizations
• Strong debugging and problem-solving - can dig into unfamiliar systems and figure out root causes independently
• Healthcare domain knowledge - understanding of RCM workflows, clinical data, and healthcare data standards

• Integration experience with Epic/Cerner, FHIR R4, HL7 v2, or other healthcare data standards
• Previous work at healthcare provider organizations or health IT vendors
• Forward deployed or field engineering experience at B2B companies
  
  

Travel: 25-50% travel expected to customer sites

The base salary range for this position is $190,000 to $210,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we also offer competitive equity and benefits packages.

Compensation Philosophy

Actual base pay will depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Adonis determines compensation based on each candidate’s experience and qualifications relative to peers, and most new hires fall near the middle of the range. In addition to base salary, you’ll receive meaningful equity and great benefits.
