About the role

  • Our production team is accountable for the production, assembly and testing of complex electronics equipment. Being proficient in the assembly of electronic products, our Assembly Technician’s form part of a highly skilled and knowledgeable team of Technicians and Engineers that deliver Advanced Navigation’s industry leading products.

What you'll do

  • Test the conformity of incoming parts such as enclosures, cables and PCBs in
  • accordance with Incoming Goods checklists
  • Assemble sub-assemblies and final products using jigs, assembly aids, adhesives,
  • moulding and soldering in accordance with Assembly Instructions
  • Undertake calibration and testing of sub-assemblies and final products in
  • accordance with Assembly Instructions
  • Package goods for safe transport and process quality inspection of products before
  • they are sent out
  • Carry out assessment and repair of quarantine and returns of products
  • Assist with the development and documentation of processes and procedures
  • Assist with management of inventory and electrical components

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Experience with high value products in a precision assembly or manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years experience in electronics or optical assembly
  • Ability to read and work with mechanical drawings and work instructions
  • Sufficient visual and mechanical capability for inspecting, handling, cleaning and soldering small optics and/or electronics components
  • General computer skills - experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, processing software and general lab equipment
  • A focus on high quality, precision and attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn the products in a speciality industry
  • Strong communication skills within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Self motivation and a positive attitude
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Strong knowledge of WHS practices
  • An electronic or optical qualification is an advantage
  • Problem solving or forensic analysis skills relating to process quality assurance
