The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager to oversee and manage and automate the accounting functions of the company. The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing the month-end and year-end close processes, and providing strategic financial insights to senior leadership. This position will play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, compliance, and fostering operational efficiency.

How You'll Fulfill Your Mission:

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulations.
  • Coordinate with external sales tax auditors during audits and ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate with tax professionals to oversee income and indirect tax compliance
  • Prepare quarterly sales and use tax returns
  • Invoice customers and manage receivables process - automating the process
  • Manage the receivables financing process
  • Perform inventory and fixed asset audits to ensure financial statements are accurate

Month-End & Year-End Close:

  • Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Prepare or review journal entries, account reconciliations, and other related documentation to ensure accuracy.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Supervise an AP lead and provide mentorship, training, and development.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide guidance to enhance productivity and morale.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with senior management to prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Implement a companywide budgeting and forecasting system and processes
  • Provide analytical insights to help management make informed financial decisions.

Process Improvement & Automation:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.
  • Recommend and oversee the implementation of accounting software or tools to increase operational efficiency.

Ad-Hoc Analysis:

  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as required by senior management.
  • Provide insights on financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

Why We Value You

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent professional certification is required (e.g., CMA, CFA).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong experience with financial reporting, general ledger, month-end close, and external audits.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Odoo, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
  • Experience with Financial Planning and Analysis processes and systems
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and good understanding of cost accounting
  • Experience with sales and use tax returns
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Desired Multipliers

  • Experience with consolidation and multi-entity accounting.
  • Experience working in a modern manufacturing environment including strong understanding of cost accounting.
  • Strong skills in process automation.
  • Proficient with Odoo 17 ERP system
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting including implementing FP&A systems.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments.

The pay range for this role is: $134,868-$167,089

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base salary range in the San Francisco Bay Area and excludes additional earnings such as bonus and benefits. If your salary requirements fall outside of the range, we still encourage you to apply.
