Caffe Corretto: Bartender

About Us:

We are a morning-to-midnight “double f” Caffe for the Eternal City that Never Sleeps. We bring the best of Rome to New York’s famed East Village, with a focus on baked good (pastries and pizza al taglio) during the mornings and afternoons and a thoughtful menu of composed dishes (meats and cheeses, soups and salads, pastas, braised meats, and grilled fish) in the evenings. Our menu features Roman classics alongside a variety of items that change seasonally, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. We proudly marry New York-style hospitality with Roman cooking, alongside excellent coffees, top-notch wines and beers, and creative cocktails. We are looking for a front-of-house team to manage breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, working closely with us to delight our guests and establish a cozy new landmark in our neighborhood.

About You:

You’re a talented hospitality pro hoping to join a dynamic, creative, caring team to serve exceptional food and drink in a cozy, friendly East Village bar and restaurant. Perhaps you’re a long-time worker looking for a new, long-term home. Maybe you’re a recent grad eager to learn more at a restaurant with room to grow. You should be highly motivated, self-directed, organized, level-headed, and able to think on your feet. If you’re obsessed with consistency, excited by seasonality, and ready to join a small but devoted team, this might be the perfect role for you.

Schedule:
Full-time schedule available; part-time hours possible; open availability preferred. Hours and days may vary; more details upon interview. Tuesday is a guaranteed day off (restaurant closed) with rare exceptions for trainings or physical plant projects, as needed.

  • Ability to speak Spanish and English (to communicate effectively with other staff)
    • Ability to speak Italian welcomed but not required
  • Ability to maintain the highest standards of food and beverage safety and sanitation
  • Ability to recognize and report FOH equipment maintenance issues in a timely fashion
  • Ability to produce consistently high-quality product and service, in a timely manner
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assist with plating and serving heat-to-order dishes, managing barista tasks, and effortlessly combining counter service and more traditional tableside service strongly preferred

Experience:

  • 1+ years of work experience in the hospitality industry required (A combination of BOH and FOH experience or culinary school education will be considered for the right candidates)

Education/Credentials:

  • NYC Food Protection Course Certification preferred but not required

Compensation Details:

  • Compensation: $15 per hour plus tips, and with tipped wage credit applied
  • Benefits & Perks:
