Job Details

Nicholas Stefanelli, the chef and owner of Michelin-starred Masseria and Officina, will debut an entirely new restaurant concept in DC's Midtown Center in late October of 2021. Paying homage to his Greek heritage, Philotimo, a word that defies translation, will be an exploration of the country’s rich and unique flavors, ingredients and culinary history. Philotimo’s menu will shed light on the valued traditions and global reach of Greece, taking a road less traveled to introduce guests to the country’s culinary diversity.


Captain (Fine Dining Server)


Description

Philotimo is seeking a motivated, energetic, and knowledgeable individual to lead and work within a front of house team in a new and exciting fine dining restaurant in downtown Washington D.C.


Tasks and Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

  • Selling and serving food and beverages in a high volume dining room
  • Extensively describe food and beverage offerings under pressure
  • Provide exceptional customer service with a positive attitude
  • Successfully work as a team player in a dynamic team
  • Conduct training sessions with new staff members
  • Take ownership of assigned station including stocking, organizing, and maintaining cleanliness
  • Assist sommeliers in retrieving and serving wine
  • Running beverage and food
  • Assist with banquet room setup and breakdown

Requirements:

  • 2 years experience working in a upscale or fine dining restaurant environment
  • Solid foundation in wine knowledge, cocktails, and culinary terms
  • Perform well under pressure
  • Close attention to detail
  • Able to stand while working for eight hours or more
  • Able to function at a high standard in a high volume environment
  • Excel in teamwork
  • Clean and well presented for service
  • 21 years or older
