Located in the growing East Market community, Mulherin’s is Method Co.’s second iteration of our popular Fishtown location. Mulherin’s will take cues from Wm. Mulherin’s Sons’ original concept focusing on Italian-influenced wood-fired cuisine that emphasizes the smokiness and char of the wood burning oven and grill, but with a greater focus on the pizza program complemented by a selection of creative handmade pastas, vegetable-forward small plates, and a handful of standout entrees
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing the beverage function of the restaurants; including all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The Assistant General Manager also supports the General Manager in all operational aspects of the business. Manage staff and daily operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, lead and mentor floor Managers and Staff
- Ensure service is maintained at the utmost of quality levels
- Develop risk management and mitigation strategies
- Represent the GM in investigating, answering, and settling grievances in absence of General Manager
- Maintain all corporate mandates
- Update and track daily reports
- Analyze staffing requirements, develop iteration plans, and assess opportunities for future growth
- Interview, screen, and recruit job applicants
- Coach and train management staff
- Responsible for Team performance – morale, productivity
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor activities and expenses
- Assist in setting and monitoring sales forecasts and profitability reports
- Keep General Manger informed of sales and key issues
- Increasing sales through marketing, networking and incentives for staff to raise guest check average.
- Assists in maintaining budgeted revenues, cost of sales (COS), labor, supplies and operating cash flow (OCF). Reviews monthly profit and loss statement and acts on all variances.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5-7 years professional experience
- Strong management skills
- Strong influence, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and creative solution generation skills
- General business acumen
- Expert knowledge of all Restaurant computer systems
- Able to quickly integrate into a team and be recognized as a leader
- Finds problem areas, develops solutions and gets the job done
- Able to delegate effectively
