Head Cake Decorator
$25 – $30/hr + Overtime ($37.50 – $45/hr) I Full-Time | Hourly Executive
LOCATION: Santa Ana, CA (Flagship Atelier)
We are a Food Network award-winning luxury custom cake bakery serving a celebrity clientele. We are seeking a Head Cake Decorator to lead the artistic execution at our newly renovated Santa Ana facility.
This is a pure artistry role. We have a dedicated Executive Production Chef and team who handles all baking, mixing, and prep. Your job is not to bake; your job is to create high-specification art. You will be supported with state of the art equipment, a full time award-winning design college and a design assistant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the Aesthetic: Execute flawless fondant work with sharp edges, intricate piping, and modern textures (stone, bas-relief, wafer paper).
• Sugar Floristry: Create hyper-realistic sugar flowers and botanical arrangements.
• Structure: Engineer and stack multi-tiered wedding cakes (3+ tiers) for secure transport.
• Client Design: Lead consultations with high-net-worth clients, sketching designs that meet their vision and budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Portfolio Required: Must show examples of tiered wedding cakes and sugar flowers.
• Experience: 3+ years in a high-end cake studio.
• Speed: Ability to execute high-level finishes within commercial timeframes.
COMPENSATION
• $25.00 – $30.00/hr (Based on Skills/Portfolio).
• 1.5x Overtime Pay.
