Chef Consultant (Hourly / Retainer)

Cafe Réveille – San Francisco
Project-Based · Upcoming Cafe Opening

Cafe Réveille is seeking an experienced Chef Consultant to work directly with ownership on the menu development, kitchen systems, and opening execution for upcoming cafe location.

This is a senior-level consulting engagement not a full-time kitchen or line cook role.

Scope
  • Develop the opening café / brunch menu

  • Create recipes, prep standards, and costing

  • Advise on kitchen workflow and BOH efficiency

  • Lead tastings and support menu rollout

  • Assist with opening execution and early optimization

Timeline
  • Estimated engagement: 6–10 weeks

  • Flexible schedule with defined milestones

  • Potential for limited follow-on support post-opening

Background
  • 4+ years as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or Culinary Consultant

  • Strong café / all-day dining experience

  • Hands-on, operationally minded approach

  • Comfortable working directly with ownership

  • SF Bay Area–based or available for on-site work

Engagement & Compensation
  • Hourly or retainer-based consulting

  • Scope, rate, and structure determined collaboratively

  • Deliverables and expectations clearly defined up front
