Job Title: FOH and Events Manager
Salary: $45,000/year plus commission
Description:
Mandu, DC's pioneering Korean restaurant, is looking for a FOH and Events Manager to join our team as we enter our 20th year! This position is primarily responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the restaurant to ensure an exceptional guest experience, strong financial performance, and a positive, productive workplace. In addition, the manager will also assist in creating and maintaining our special events and catering programs, earning a commission from all events booked through manager. The manager will work under and with the leadership team (owner, General Manager, and Executive Chef) to assist all team members, manage operational systems, and uphold company standards for quality, service, and cleanliness.This position requires being ever-present and extremely attentive. We are looking for someone who is not just a physical presence but proactive and intentional when at the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining the restaurant’s culture and environment

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Setting and meeting business targets

  • Interacting with staff, partners, and guests to maintain positive relationships

  • Performing quality control checks across the restaurant’s operations

  • Engaging with local businesses for catering needs and private event availability

  • Utilizing house event software to reach out to event planners and hosts

  • Daily reporting, such as tip reports, checks, etc.

  • Check employee schedules to ensure plans match reality

  • Monitor operations during service

  • Manage staff conflict

  • Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally

  • Oversee day-to-day front of house maintenance (cleaning, repairs, and standards)
