🌱 About Dandelion Energy:

Dandelion Energy is transforming how homes are heated and cooled—starting from (below) the ground up. As the nation’s leading residential geothermal company, we design, install, and maintain all-in-one heating and cooling systems that are cleaner, quieter, and up to 4x more efficient than traditional HVAC, with a focus on large, scaled deployments to large homebuilders. We’re an ambitious (and growing) team on a mission to revolutionize home heating.

Backed by Google Ventures (GV) and other top tech investors, our end-to-end geothermal solution is breaking the status quo of residential heating and cooling technology, and we’re scaling rapidly to meet demand. Whether we’re serving national homebuilders or individual homeowners, our mission is the same: to make geothermal the default choice for heating and cooling in the U.S.

We’re looking for a Field Operations Manager to lead day-to-day installation and service operations in Peekskill and the surrounding region. Reporting to Dandelion’s Consumer Installations Leader, this is a highly hands-on, technical role where no two days are the same—you’ll be out in the field visiting crews, troubleshooting systems, and ensuring every geothermal installation meets our high standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

You’ll lead four installation teams plus our licensed electrician and plumber, overseeing planning, scheduling, and on-site execution from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a calm problem-solver, strong communicator, and organized operator who loves seeing a complex project come together perfectly in the field.

  • Troubleshoot complex install and service issues; manage RMAs and vendor escalations.

  • Empower technicians to handle parts, scheduling, and ticket closure efficiently.

  • Maintain clear, empathetic communication with customers; de-escalate issues as needed.

Planning & Logistics

  • Partner with Scheduling to plan daily and weekly work across multiple crews.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, permits, and inspections to avoid bottlenecks.

  • Stage jobs in advance; confirm materials, scopes, and documentation readiness.

  • Collaborate with Design and Sales to validate field conditions and scope accuracy.

Safety & Quality

  • Lead toolbox/tailgate talks and enforce safety standards.

  • Conduct pre-inspection checks to ensure first-time pass rates.

  • Own QA/QC standards, commissioning checklists, and site documentation.

  • Audit site photos and reports; identify and correct issues proactively.

People & Continuous Improvement

  • Coach, train, and motivate field crews; reinforce SOPs and commissioning best practices.

  • Recognize strong performance and address skill gaps with targeted coaching.

  • Track and improve KPIs like labor efficiency, callbacks, and first-time inspection pass rates.

  • Run root-cause analyses on recurring issues and collaborate cross-functionally to solve them.

🎯 You Will Thrive in this Role if You Have:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with field teams and homeowners alike.

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and calmness under pressure.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with shifting priorities.

  • A passion for sustainability and interest in innovative, mission-driven work.

  • A team-first mentality with pride in doing things safely and the right way.

Must-Haves:

  • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in attics, basements, or ladders as needed.

  • Availability for occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

🌟 Bonus Points For:

  • Experience leading or training installation or service teams.
  • Familiarity with CRM or field tools like Buildertrend, Procore, or ServiceTitan.
  • Prior work in geothermal, clean tech, or residential construction.
