What you'll do
We're looking for an experienced individual contributor who enjoys working alongside other experienced engineers, designers, and researchers to quickly build and iterate on backend, platform, and developer-facing surfaces for the #1 AI code reviewer in the world.
Build the intelligence layer that ships with every PR. You'll own infrastructure that ingests PRs, builds semantic graphs of customer codebases (control flow, data flow, call graphs), and runs Ellie's adversarial review loop in seconds — at the scale of hundreds of repos and millions of lines of code, in production daily.Ship across the full stack and influence what we build on. Frontend is React, backend is Node/Express and TypeScript, with Python services where models live. We're at the stage where you make the calls — Postgres schemas, queue choices, deploy targets — that we'll live with for years.Own integrations developers actually use. Build and harden the surfaces engineers see Ellie through: GitHub and GitLab apps, the VS Code / Cursor / Windsurf extension, the Slack bot, the CLI, and the Jira / Linear bridges. These aren't side features — they're the product.Build a robust, scalable backend. PostgreSQL data models, performant REST + streaming APIs with Redis cache, durable job queues for long-running review pipelines, webhooks, idempotent third-party integrations, transactional email, product analytics, and service monitoring. We currently deploy to Heroku to keep DevOps simple and will be looking for you to establish viable long-term cloud infrastructure and operations.Build UI for the engineering analytics dashboard. Implement the surfaces engineering leaders use to see how their org actually ships — based on Figma mocks and our design system. You'll collaborate with designers and frontend engineers, and we ship UI that has a native feel by polishing CSS, interaction states, and animations.Self-direct your work and co-own the product. You're a technical-founder type and will have autonomy and responsibility. You'll shape the roadmap and own Entelligence's exploding backend needs as we go from #1 on a benchmark to the default reviewer for engineering teams.Solve interesting technical problems. Bring your full creativity to super-challenging work: semantic indexing of huge monorepos, low-latency review pipelines, sync between IDE / GitHub / Slack state, post-mortem feedback loops that improve future reviews, and real-time collaboration on review threads.What we're looking for
You're a senior IC who has built such systems before and this is not an area you have to ramp up on. We don't require any formal qualifications but value learning new skills, especially from one another. We are looking for someone who feels a sense of duty to the users of their work.
Highly productive while producing quality code. You enjoy pushing out features in a pragmatic and maintainable way. You know when to use duct tape and when to lay a foundation.Design sensibility. While you'll co-craft the interface with top designers and frontend engineers, we expect you to have a knack for great UX, such that you feel if something is off and can flag it, or better yet, polish it.Attention to detail while pragmatic. We strive for few slips in code, Git hygiene, and clear written communication — all while remaining low-ego and simply focusing on solutions.Interested in productivity apps/systems.
