The RCM Billing Coordinator is responsible for handling inbound calls related to billing inquiries and also assists with outbound follow phone calls as needed. RCM Coordinators verify, organize, and update member information including any demographic or insurance plan changes and input it into our databases accordingly for accurate record keeping.

As an RCM Coordinator, you will:

  • Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality of medical information.
  • Promptly log all client/insurance correspondence in the EHR system.
  • Collect payments, create card agreements, set up payment plans, and assist with refunds as needed.
  • Create and send detailed billing statements for clients as requested.
  • Verify member's insurance eligibility, benefits, and precert requirements. This includes determining correct payors, networks, cost share, etc via insurance provider portals and/or calling insurance representatives.
  • Communicate effectively a member’s insurance eligibility and benefits to a member, provider, or coworker in an easy to understand way via phone, email, or secure message.
  • Communicate with insurance payors and their representatives via phone call, email, and secure messaging.
  • Update and maintain member’s demographics and insurance information in the EHR.
  • Process incoming insurance authorizations via fax, email, and phone call.
  • Follow all department and company Standard Operating Procedures in relation to verifying a member's insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Audit members’ accounts for full accuracy, with a focus on member's insurance and eligibility.
  • Identify and correct claim issues in relation to a member's insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Communicate effectively with other RCM team members and the operations team to resolve member billing issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of ICD9/ICD10 diagnostic as well as CPT/HCPC procedural coding.
  • Escalate more complex issues to an RCM Leader when necessary.
  • All other duties or special projects as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish Required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a RCM/Medical Billing role, mental health focus preferred
  • Previous experience with an electronic medical/health record system, AdvancedMD preferred
  • This role requires you to have a private workspace that allows you to adhere to HIPAA regulations while communicating with members.
  • A fast and stable internet connection that is private.
  • Understanding of insurance policies and terms
  • Understanding of associated privacy legislation related to healthcare information, i.e., HIPAA
  • Demonstrates awareness, inclusivity, sensitivity, humility, and experience in working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other various aspects of culture.

  • A full-time, non-exempt position with a competitive hourly compensation of $19.00/hr
