Job Description

This Contracts position will support our Experian Consumer Services and Partner Solutions businesses. The position will provide you the opportunity to part of the team who negotiate contracts directly with Experian’s business clients, requiring an understanding or background with a variety of different agreements, including software licensing, SaaS, “white-label” engagements, professional services, analytics, as well as NDAs, evaluation agreements, “co-branded” engagements and standard terms and conditions. You are chartered with finding creative solutions that meet both Experian’s and its clients’ business and legal needs and ensure that contracts are filed, recoverable, searchable, available for audit and conform with a myriad of Experian policy and procedure requirements. This position requires coordination with various stakeholders and subject matter experts notably the Sales team(s), the legal department, compliance, product marketing, finance, as well as other groups at Experian. You will also track and maintain compliance with contracting policies including approval procedures for non-standard terms and pricing, lead the on-going administration of client contracts, advise other members of the contracts team on policy issues and risks, and provide training to sales and other departments on contract tools and the ability to recover and access contract documents and contracts tracking in real-time (via JIRA). You need to be adept at using your judgment and making sound decisions quickly to facilitate contract administration while minimizing risk to Experian’s interests.

Qualifications

• BA Required; paralegal certification or an advanced degree desirable but not required if significant experience

• 3 to 5+ years plus of experience with complex commercial agreements for large financial institutions, telecoms, utilities, fintech, and other types of business clients, in a corporate or other environment including but not limited to the administration and reporting related to such contracts

• Excellent working knowledge and experience with contracts administration including but not limited to filing, tracking, reporting and preparing summaries related to such contracts

• Experience with US and foreign (example - GDPR) data privacy laws, or other similar regulatory schemes, a major plus

• Experience supporting a contracts or similar team at a technology company or other large company desired

• Concisely, timely and effectively advise other team members of contract risk associated with certain arrangements as needed (including policy non-conformance issues)

• Ability to draft contract administration documents quickly, completely and concisely, including reports, summaries, extracts, comparison charts, etc.

• Background or familiarity with CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management Tools) and/or JIRA highly desirable

• Ability to understand complex contract concepts and distill those in a brief format to a diverse set of stakeholders, including potentially senior executives of the Company

• Highly motivated, strategic, and detail-oriented with the ability to proactively organize a heavy workload and work independently without daily supervision

• Self-starter who understands executing with urgency, and the ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment

• Maintain a high level of professionalism and outstanding business judgment with minimal supervision and the ability to pivot and re-prioritize quickly and frequently

• Ability to draft a substantive email in five sentences or less for an executive level audience
