Job Description

Experian Global Security Office (EGSO) provides a full suite of information security services from engineering to security risk management, policy, metrics, and identity management. Its vision is to protect, connect and create its business in a secure and resilient manner. The Information Security Governance team is the principal advocate for information security and is responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive information security strategy to optimize the security posture of the organization.

As our Security Governance Senior Technical Policy Specialist, you will join a talented and experienced information security team and help to define the security posture of a top global company. You’ll have the opportunity to touch all areas of the Experian business while also becoming an expert in security best practices, standards, and related regulation.

To thrive in this role, you must possess breadth and depth of knowledge in information security, be detail oriented and able to distil complex security concepts down to a simple level and work with people from all levels of the business.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

  • Leading the research and development of information security policies and their supporting documents including detailed technical baselines based on industry best practice with a focus on complex new technologies and Cloud.
  • Communicating outcomes to senior leadership across Experian as well as negotiating with subject matter experts on the technical details of the policies and their supporting documents.
  • Working with industry partners to shape the development of industry frameworks and standards and providing insight to the business on upcoming trends and the external security landscape.
  • Review and provide expert check and challenge on first line business units’ programs to support compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Drive the Information Security Policy and Standards teams continuing maturity using new technologies such as AI and ML.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas: Information Security, Technology Governance, Technology Audit, Information Technology Compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge of IT technologies and methods to secure them with a deep knowledge of Cloud security including a working knowledge of AWS.
  • Understanding of control and risk management concepts and knowledge of the operational aspects of the information risk business.
  • Advanced understanding of industry best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO, COBIT, CMMI, OWASP, ITIL)
  • Industry certifications such as CCSP, CRISC, CISSP or CISM or equivalent experience.
