North America Procurement

As part of the Global Procurement Function the North America Procurement Team is here to capture and maximize the value from our company's external supplier spend through optimizing acquisition cost, minimizing enterprise risk from Experian's external supplier base, while driving supplier development and collaboration. In direct collaboration with our team, we allow the business to source through the Procurement Lifecycle.

Role Summary

The unique hybrid style role affords you the opportunity to join a fun and dynamic procurement organization, that has access to all levels of Experian's diverse employee base. You will report to the Procurement Manager. You will obtain paralegal-level knowledge of commercial contract law through hands-on contracting experience.

Responsibilities

As a Junior Transactional Attorney/ Contracts Specialist, you will support the buying strategy for one or more spend categories: marketing, data acquisition, professional services, and IT. We are looking for you to partner with the buyer to manage our supplier contracts:

  • Be onsite at the Costa Mesa, CA office 2+ days per week
  • Identify the engagement risk of each contract
  • Review existing contract documents to determine fit for purpose
  • Identification and generation of all required contracting documents
  • Redline, edit, draft contractual and other documents to meet Experian's commercial contracting standards and supporting supplier negotiation
  • Be the project manager for coordination with the buyer, multiple team members, and subject matter experts in the legal, compliance, product, third-party risk, and finance departments, and bring transactions to successful completion within the required time frame
  • Provide milestone updates to team members on contracting progress
  • Enforce and document approval for non-standard terms and pricing
  • Advise management on contractual terms and risks
  • Operate independently on most matters amongst competing priorities
  • Work within multiple businesses, teams, and time-zones
  • Maintain important work activities in Experian's tools
  • Promote a high-level customer experience

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must be located in Southern California, driving distance from Costa Mesa
  • Business related Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of transactional vendor contracting experience in redlining and drafting, or equivalent experience.”
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships, internally and externally
  • Experience with general commercial contract law
  • Project management skills
  • Experience with Ariba Contracts, an advantage but not necessary
