Job Description

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for continued improvement and support of our Windows server environment from Windows 2012 to Windows 2022

You will cover the lifecycle management from deployment to retirement of the environment and ensuring incidents and problems are swiftly dealt with, whilst complying with policies, whilst ensuring the environment is maintained.

You will be a contact point for issues and provide mentorship to 3rd party engineers in the team and provide onsite support for all changes and incidents. You will also provide infrastructure support for all types of issue. It is expected that there will be an equal focus on both service and security and an awareness of both is necessary .

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Windows Server environment and create automation playbooks
• Manage incident resolution to the server environment to ensure problems are isolated and develop path to remediation
• Support the post-incident and problem process to ensure toot causes are correctly identified and remediated
• Provide expert technical input and leadership during the resolution of intractable systems problems.
• Perform remediation on HPE hardware, software, and firmware
• Work outside normal hours and be part of an out of hours on-call rotation (one week in 4)

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows 2012 - 2022 Servers across a large shared environment (Server, Converged, Network, VMware)
• VMware virtualization
• Scripting and automation technology -Powershell or Python
• HPE Server Hardware (ProLiant range, Synergy/OneView)
• Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure, Oracle, Google)
• Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace
