Company Description

The Commercial Management team supports the business from a contractual perspective by supporting, and where required leading, the negotiation and conclusion of commercial contracts with our customers. The team is supported by its own internal legal team and by other tasks across Experian such as Compliance, Strategic Pricing and Finance teams to ensure that the wider commercial considerations are taken into account when structuring, negotiating and concluding deals.

Job Description

What you'll do:

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager you will:

  • Ensure that each commercial sales transaction is contracted on terms which conform to Experian's global contract policy, maximises potential revenue, and business benefit whilst minimizing risk.
  • Work with Sales and sales support departments to understand our client requirements and ensure these are reflected within the contracts.
  • Draft and construct contracts, contract schedules and variation agreements
  • Ensure contracts are unambiguous to ensure clear fulfilment of all obligations including payment obligations.
  • Where part of the team remit, consult on and help draft different contract templates.
  • Provide guidance to the business on our commercial contractual processes.
  • Escalate for approval any proposed variations from Experian's standard contracting terms or global contracting policy
  • Respond to Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)/Data Processing Agreement queries including reviewing customer NDAs and DPAs, working with Legal Team for escalations, drafting of new provisions for these agreements, amending our standard NDA/DPA agreements in corporation with legal where needed.
  • Review interim commercial cover and work at risk requests where required
  • Promote compliance with commercial processes and seek improvement opportunities for all commercial management processes
  • Attend Commercial Team meetings; meetings with external parties; and other teams.
  • Ensure that correct Commercial management processes are followed such as the SSR process and ensure all contract information is input into Salesforce to maintain accurate records of approvals and events.
  • Contribute to the improvement, management of commercial processes and process systemisation and automation.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • Commercial/contract management role of 1+ years;
  • Legal degree qualification, or experience in commercial environment;
  • Experience with legal terms and conditions.
  • Good level of understanding of commercial contract terms;
  • Good stakeholder management; develop relationships by listening to and understanding both internal parties and clients.
  • Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
  • Fluent English.
