Job Description

We're looking for a Risk and Control Lead to join the Global Finance Services Team based in Sofia and report to Assistant Regional Controller for EMAP.

This is a high-profile role with Executive level exposure, it requires a good understanding of financial controls and risk management. We are looking for someone who not only has the capability to meet technical requirements but also displays the behaviors needed to interact with stakeholders across countries and cultures.

What you'll do:

  • Lead on delivery of Risk focused work streams and the controls improvement agenda
  • Be a driving force for key risk and control improvements across the region and markets
  • Work with Regional Controllership on regional improvement projects and other adhoc workstreams
  • Support Market Financial Controllers (FCs) with focused risk assessment; help on known risks; and the implementation of controls. Develop processes to proactively manage risks.
  • Drive standardisation of the Statutory Accounts preparation and Audit Support model across the EMAP region. Work with Market Financial Controllers on the timely delivery of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide oversight for the Market Balance Sheet Review process including improvements to pack/data presented; clear definitions of purpose of review; establishment of monitoring controls to ensure effectiveness
  • Support on the roll out of the ICFR project across EMAP including identification and improvement of existing controls and implementation where control gaps are identified
  • Proactively work with the Regional FCs and Market FCs to understand any deviations to Group/Regional policy and ensure these are reported and are on path for remediation.
  • Work to bring clarity to group recharges and support Market Financial Controllers with such.
  • Perform various adhoc and monthly approval processes

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • 7+ years' relevant experience in audit or controllership
  • CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA qualification
  • Experience in people and team management
  • Experience in financial reporting, including dealing with stakeholders in different global locations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders remotely
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast paced environment and respond under ambiguous situations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and is highly logical and numerate
  • Ability to present ideas and opinions in a collaborative, credible and influential manner
  • A continuous improvement mind-set and experience in process improvement will be an added advantage
