Job Description
As a Data Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and governing modern, cloud-native data platforms and analytics solutions. You will work closely with global technology teams to design data models, review data architecture designs, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards. Your influence will help shape the future of our data and analytics landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead data architecture reviews and provide feedback on data platform designs, data models, and non-functional requirements
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure architectural alignment, drive reuse of data assets, and champion high-quality data engineering practices
- Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models for complex financial systems
- Act as a strong, visible advocate for enterprise data platforms and champion their adoption with regional stakeholders
- Design scalable, secure, and resilient data solutions using AWS services including SageMaker Unified Studio
- Guide engineering teams in applying cloud data architecture patterns, AWS Well-Architected Framework principles, and data modeling best practices
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation including data models, blueprints, patterns, and technical specifications
- Lead the migration of existing data capabilities onto modern cloud-native data platforms
- Oversee subsequent data platform migration and decommissioning of legacy data systems
- Work closely with multiple product teams to capture data requirements and feed them into platform backlogs
- Contribute to the definition and evolution of the enterprise data platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and technology goals
- Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry best practices
- Mentor data engineering teams and promote architectural excellence across the organisation
- Provide technical leadership in the integration of unified analytics and AI platforms using SageMaker Unified Studio
Qualifications
- 8+ years in enterprise data architecture and modeling, with proven experience as a Data Architect.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services: Storage & Lakehouse: S3, Lake Formation Processing: Glue, EMR (Spark), Lambda Warehouse: Redshift Streaming: Kinesis, MSK AI/ML: SageMaker Unified Studio
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, data lakehouse, and event-driven/streaming patterns
- Expertise in data modeling techniques (3NF, Dimensional, Data Vault 2.0)
- • Strong understanding of cloud-native data architectures, including data lakehouse, event-driven, and streaming patterns
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CDK) and CI/CD (Jenkins, Bitbucket)
