Willy’s Mexicana Grill -Restaurant General Manager

Job Type: Full-time
Days: Monday-Friday and weekends as needed
Starting Pay: $50k+ based on experience, plus benefits and bonus potential
Restaurant Type: Fast Casual
Experience Required: 2+ years restaurant management preferred

Job Summary

Willy’s Mexicana Grill is looking for an energetic, hands-on General Manager to lead one of our fast-casual restaurants. Our GMs are not just operational leaders, they drive results through people, culture, and community. You’ll oversee the full restaurant operation including service, quality, staffing, P&L, safety, and compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily restaurant operations with a focus on guest experience, team engagement, food safety, and operational excellence.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members and managers through structured onboarding and ongoing coaching.
  • Align team with Willy’s values through daily pre-shift “Taco Talks” and a strong, positive culture.
  • Manage scheduling, labor, food cost, and inventory to achieve financial goals.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities including payroll, P&L management, reporting, and system usage.
  • Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and security standards are followed by company and health department regulations.
  • Maintain HR compliance related to hiring, documentation, coaching, and performance management.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally while fostering a customer-first culture.
  • Support marketing and community engagement efforts to grow local traffic and brand loyalty.
  • Model servant leadership and set the standard for accountability, energy, and teamwork.
Requirements

  • 2+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in fast casual or QSR
  • Serve Safe certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days)
  • Experience with food/labor cost control, inventory, and scheduling systems
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods and lift 50 pounds
  • Operational knowledge of kitchen equipment such as fryers, grills, and prep tools
  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Commitment to outstanding guest service and team development
  • Experience handling cash and end-of-day reconciliation preferred
  • Must pass background and MVR checks
