23andMe is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and experienced genetic counselor for the role of Genomic Health Education Manager to join our Genomic Health team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to 1) integrate and scale genetic services within the context of a primary care and prevention lens, 2) optimize the potential of consumer-driven genomics in patient care, and 3) facilitate the ongoing development of genetics knowledge and skills of primary care provider colleagues.

Reporting to Genomic Health leadership, the Genomic Health Education Manager will be responsible for serving as a genetics expert and ambassador in consumer genomics for 23andMe’s health-related stakeholder groups and individuals. 23andMe’s Genomic Health team includes medical professionals with expertise in genetic counseling, clinical genetics, primary care, and public health who are dedicated to improving patient healthcare experiences and outcomes centered around consumer-driven genomics. This is a hybrid position based out of our Sunnyvale Headquarters three days per week.

What You’ll Do

  • Engage in medical and scientific outreach to key stakeholder groups including healthcare providers (HCPs), healthcare organizations, academic institutions, professional and scientific organizations, policy and governmental bodies, and consumer advocacy groups
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders
  • Provide genetics and clinical support for HCPs by answering questions and developing content themes for 23andMe’s Healthcare Professionals website
  • Participate in the promotion of educational materials and programs, including continuing education (e.g., CME) opportunities, by developing strategic initiatives with external partners
  • Facilitate the utilization of 23andMe as a personal genetic testing experiential learning opportunity in the classroom and for healthcare providers and other stakeholder groups
  • Participate in genetic counseling student industry rotation through educational activities, mentorship, and supervision.
  • Maintain professional credentials and remain in good standing with professional boards, organizations, and licensing authorities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling or related field
  • ABGC certification
  • Minimum of five years genetic counseling experience
  • Experience working as a medical science liaison and/or in commercial clinical genetic testing laboratory
  • Experience developing genetics-related content and educational materials
  • Innovative thinking and problem solving
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, listening) skills and able to collaboratively engage with colleagues across the organization
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and technology competent
  • Goal-oriented self-starter with demonstrated ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated decision-making, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Dedication to health equity and overall diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Ability to work from 23andMe's office in Sunnyvale, CA three days per week.

Pay Transparency
23andMe takes a market-based approach to pay, and amounts will vary depending on your geographic location. The salary range reflected here is for a candidate based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
