The Finance Team interfaces with all of the teams at Loop to analyze and guide how we deploy our resources and capital. The team strives to make complex decisions simple and clear based on a deep understanding of our growth levers and where resource allocation can accelerate our efforts.
You’ll join Loop as a Senior Staff Accountant, reporting to our Controller. You will drive our core finance and accounting processes and create robust, scalable standards to support a high-growth organization. Working closely with the other business teams, you will be responsible for accounting operations, financial reporting, and monitoring accounting processes to maximize efficiencies for Loop.
Right away, we’ve listed what we think you’ll be spending your time on. We’re growing fast, and growth means the challenges we’ll work on together will change as we lead Loop through new and different phases.
This is an indispensable role with us, so we’ll be looking for you to have examples of when you’ve tackled these challenges throughout your career. We’ve laid out the experience we think is important to set you up for success in this role. But, we appreciate that different humans will solve problems in different ways, so we don’t expect you to fit exactly in a box of requirements.
At Loop, we’re intentional about the way we work so that we can do our best work. We call this our Blended Working Environment. We work from our HQ in Columbus, OH, or one of our Hub or Secluded locations, and are distributed throughout the United States, select Canadian provinces, and the United Kingdom. For this position, you are welcome to join us from anywhere in the United States.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliation schedules to support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Review customer contracts and apply appropriate revenue recognition policies under ASC 606.
  • Manage multi-element subscriptions revenue, and reconcile deferred revenue and unbilled receivables.
  • Partner with RevOps to ensure CRM (Salesforce) and billing platforms align with accounting policies.
  • Lead automation and system implementations across the full suite of revenue processes, leveraging AI tooling where applicable.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ASC 606 and SaaS revenue accounting best practices and manage the order-to-cash process.
  • Analyze monthly financial results and variances across accounts.
  • Be the primary contact for the full purchase cycle and manage the procure-to-pay process. Monitor employees’ T&E expenses and review them for reimbursements according to company policy.
  • Assist in defining, implementing, and improving internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to system implementation/enhancements affecting accounting operations and financial reporting.
  • Support the annual audit process, including coordination with external auditors and the preparation of audit schedules.
  • Support finance teams on ad-hoc analysis and projects.

Your Experience:

  • You’ve completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; a CPA is a plus for us.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience overseeing full-cycle accounting, preferably for a software company or in a subscription business environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply U.S. GAAP standards and audit concepts and requirements.
  • We’d love to hear from you if you have experience using ERP systems (NetSuite) or other complex accounting software systems.
  • You have familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce) and revenue automation tools.
  • Experience supporting system implementations or process automation initiatives.
  • You have demonstrated interest in leveraging AI and automation technologies to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and enhance reporting.
  • You consider yourself a Microsoft Excel specialist (v-lookups and pivot tables).
  • You have examples of how you have created exceptional partnerships with your team members, and quickly became one of their favorite people to work with because of your commitment to creatively fulfilling their needs.
  • Even the smallest of details don’t pass by you, and organization and project management are some of your superpowers.
  • You’re a problem solver who remains unshaken in a fast-paced environment.
  • Made your role better than you found it by proactively creating and continuously improving expectations, processes, and documentation.
