Developer adoption is crucial to the success of our mission. We’re looking for a Developer Advocate in North America to promote the use of Neon Serverless Postgres with our Partners and developers.

As a Developer Advocate at Neon, you will

  • Play a crucial role in building brand awareness, driving developer adoption, and fostering relationships with the developer community.
  • Create engaging technical content across written, video and in-person channels.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and demos at industry conferences, meetups, webinars, and other relevant events to educate developers on the power Neon Serverless Postgres and adjacent technologies.
  • Be the bridge between our Engineering team and the Developer community, helping to ensure that our product is well understood, supported, and embraced by developers.
  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert by sharing your insights, experiences, and best practices in the developer community through public speaking engagements.
  • Attend relevant industry conferences, meetups, and events to stay up to date with the latest trends, network with developers, and represent Neon and our product.
  • Collaborate with the design, product, and technical writer to keep the Storefront of our product relevant to the user’s questions and needs. You will co-own the content and steer the development of our Blog, Guides, HowTo's & Documentation.
  • Have a chance to influence marketing and branding efforts in addition to developer relations.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in web application development (Javascript, Typescript, Node.js)
  • Strong communication skills and a track record of engaging talks and presentations (we expect you to have a highly engaged user audience)
  • Demonstrated experience in technical content creation, such as Youtube videos, blog posts, tutorials, documentation
  • Passion for building and nurturing developer communities, with a track record of successful community engagement initiatives
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to hold the attention of the audience
  • Confident and comfortable presenting to different types of audiences, large and small
  • The ability to communicate technically complicated topics simply and elegantly
  • Passion for technology and a deep understanding of the developer ecosystem
  • Empathy and a customer-centric mindset, with a genuine desire to help developers succeed
  • Intellectual curiosity, with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Deep knowledge of relational/non-relational database technologies

About Neon

Neon is building open-source cloud-native PostgreSQL. Our architecture separates storage from compute, allowing for stateless and serverless Postgres. We’re a well funded startup with deep knowledge of Postgres internals and decades of experience building databases. We are a systems company; we work on low-level code with strict performance and correctness requirements.
Neon was created by a team of Postgres hackers, and led by CEO Nikita Shamgunov (co-founder of SingleStore). Neon is built on open-source principles and is focused on giving back to the Postgres and developer communities.
