We are seeking a passionate PR Manager dedicated to the German market to join our Global Communications Team, reporting into the EMEA Comms Director. You will be responsible for executing our PR strategy in Germany, driving media relations, press events and creating compelling content such as media alerts, bylines and comments to position Zendesk as leader for AI in CX.

This role requires a communications talent with strong media relations skills, creativity, and a good understanding of the German media landscape who thrives in an international fast-growing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement PR strategies: Create and execute effective public relations campaigns that align with the global communications strategy, focusing on the German market.

  • Media relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key German media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure media coverage in top-tier publications.

  • Press releases and content creation: Write, edit, and distribute press releases, articles, and other PR content that communicate our brand messages effectively.

  • Media event management: Organize and manage press interviews, media briefings, and other events to generate positive publicity.

  • Social media engagement: Collaborate with the social media team to amplify PR campaigns.

  • Monitoring and reporting: Track media coverage, analyze PR campaign effectiveness, and provide regular reports to management.

  • Agency management: Liaise with PR agencies, if applicable, to coordinate efforts and ensure consistent messaging and successful campaign execution.

What you bring to the role

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in external communications, corporate communications, or a related field.

  • Native German speaker or business fluent; fluent in English.

  • Previous experience working in the tech, CX or SaaS industry.

  • Proven track record of successful PR campaigns and media placements in Germany.

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and messages.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain media relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable communication plans.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence at all levels of the organization.

  • The ability to get executives excited about media opportunities and drive their engagement.

  • Working experience in a PR agency and in-house is a plus.
