Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Production Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting critical production systems while ensuring high availability and performance. The candidate should have strong technical expertise in UNIX shell scripting, SQL, and Oracle databases with the ability to analyze issues, resolve incidents, and implement permanent fixes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24x7 production support for business-critical applications.

  • Monitor system health, performance, and job execution.

  • Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and provide resolutions within SLA.

  • Write and maintainUNIX shell scriptsand Perlfor automation, monitoring, and operational tasks.

  • Develop and optimizeSQL queries for data extraction, troubleshooting, and reporting.

  • Work extensively with Oracle databases to resolve production issues and maintain data integrity.

  • Coordinate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution and deployment support.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and escalate issues as required.

  • Document technical procedures, incident resolutions, and knowledge base articles.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux shell scripting.

  • Proficiency in SQL (query writing, debugging, performance tuning).

  • Good working knowledge of Oracle databases (tables, procedures, triggers, query optimization).

  • Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills for production issues.

  • Ability to work in 24x7 support environments with on-call rotation.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Knowledge of job scheduling tools (Control-M, Autosys, or similar).

  • Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk, AppDynamics, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Experience with Agile principles.
