The Senior Analyst, Software Asset Management, is responsible for optimizing and supporting the software asset lifecycle. In this role, you will partner with application owners, security and architects to design and deliver integrations across discovery systems, desktop applications, SaaS platforms, and enterprise systems to ensure accurate asset data, streamline access, optimize software spend, maintain compliance, and provide visibility and trusted insights for IT and business leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support the end-to-end Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and retirement of software assets across the enterprise.
  • Utilize Software Asset Management tools to track software installations, license compliance, entitlements, and optimize usage.
  • Configure, administer, and optimize SAM Pro for entitlement management, reconciliation, and optimization.
  • Build workflows, automation, and reporting for compliance, optimization, and audit readiness.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to provide actionable insights into software usage and compliance.
  • Compile financial, contractual, and inventory data to support enterprise IT asset lifecycle management.
  • Recommend and enforce SAM policies and procedures to ensure software compliance and mitigate audit risks.
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests, resolve compliance issues, and mitigate audit risks.
  • Analyze discovery and procurement data across multiple systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Excel, vendor portals) to support software reconciliation and true-up processes.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to manage acquisitions, renewals, and vendor relationships.
  • Support the procure-to-pay process by coordinating purchase requests, validating financial coding, and ensuring compliance with SAM governance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) – IAITAM preferred
  • ITIL Foundation
  • ServiceNow SAM Pro certification
  • Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or related functions in a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
  • 3 – 5 years of hands-on expertise with ServiceNow SAM Pro and related modules
  • Proven experience designing and implementing integrations across desktop applications, SaaS platforms, and enterprise systems
  • Strong knowledge of license models, procurement processes, and vendor management.
  • Experience managing internal software audits and supporting external compliance reviews.
  • Familiarity with Okta/IAM platforms a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct software audits, true-ups, and compliance investigations.
  • Advanced skills in analyzing large datasets from multiple systems (ServiceNow, vendor portals, IAM platforms).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including Security, Identity, Procurement, and IT leadership.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with strong analytical skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proven track record in customer service and vendor relationship management.
