Empower Global Database Infrastructure team is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. This is a mid to senior level position.This individual will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Oracle database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, Oracle Exadata, multitenancy architecture (CDB), configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and security best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

  • Perform database tuning and optimization to maximize system performance and efficiency.

  • Defining problems and problem-solving mind by generating alternative solutions.

  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Monitor database systems and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.

  • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

  • The candidate will interface with Value Stream developers to recommend best database practices and serve as a liaison between technical and business owners or developers.

  • Stay current with Oracle database technologies and best practices to recommend and implement improvements.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the database team.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) or Oracle Database Developer.

  • Deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and Oracle Grid Infrastructure.

  • Understanding of Golden Gate or AWS Quantum Ledger is desired.

  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming languages.

  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

  • Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Interpersonal skills and interaction with business developers isa must.

  • Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) preferred but not required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
