ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Build data pipelines in MS Azure platform that supports the consumption of structured and unstructured data from various sources with the use of Azure Data Factory and Data Bricks
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to analyze, transform, and model large complex data sets for business insights, operational reporting, and analytics
- Develop data solutions that facilitates re-usability across various business function
- Develop and support the creation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Lead and support the migration of on-premise data solutions to the MS Azure platform
- Guide team members and actively contribute and improve our data solutions and best practices
- Collaborate with internal technical stakeholders and business partners for solving data related technical issues
- Advise others on Data Modelling and the use of database technologies
- Apply enhancement and provide support for initiatives related to existing legacy databases
- Work will initially involve proficiency in MS SQL Server as the focus gradually shifts to Azure Databricks over the course of database migration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in developing data solutions with a strong background in data warehousing (incorporating a Kimball dimensional design methodology)
- Strong relational database development experience in MS SQL is required
- Experience in developing ETL constructs using Informatica or an equivalent tool
- Recent development experience in MS Azure platform (Databricks, ADF), Kafka, Python (or R), Change Spark, and Data Capture (CDC)
- Previous investment and/or insurance experience will be considered an asset
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Seeks to understand business needs, and delivers high quality service to the business while understanding the organization’s vision, purpose and values
- Passionate about technology, the user experience, demonstrates inner self starter, and is accepting of and open to learning new ideas outside scope or knowledge
- Familiar with API, microservice integration
