The Compensation Partner assists in the implementation and administration of competitive and legally compliant compensation program. Collaborates with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner team members to conduct job evaluations, determine competitive pricing that is in line with market trends and provide sound compensation analysis. Prepares compensation recommendations requiring a solid understanding of compensation techniques, methods, and practices. Typically provides compensation analysis and support as a Center of Excellence for HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition, as well as assigned client groups. Utilizes analytical methods and tools to ensure enterprise level compensation programs are administered consistently and reflect Empower’s compensation philosophy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists with the administration of the company-wide compensation function which includes creating, implementing and administering market competitive fixed and variable pay programs that comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Provide guidance to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and managers, typically for assigned client groups, to develop compensation solutions and comprehensive pay decisions, along with educating on factors that should be considered in such decisions.
Partners with other HR groups, leaders or managers to provide support of and execution on major project initiatives including, but not limited to: automation and HR systems; the annual merit, bonus and equity cycle; annual salary survey participation; job architecture ; data integrity ; due diligence in support of the company's annual salary policy recommendations; and mid-year promotions and salary adjustments. This may involve developing project plans, monitoring progress toward on-time completion, and preparing standard and ad hoc reports.
Conducts market analysis and makes recommendations to management. This includes job evaluations on new and existing positions, including content review, bench marking, market pricing, FLSA determination and alignment within internal salary structures, bonus and equity programs for the company.
Performs data compilation and analysis to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
Serves as systems administrator for applications/systems related to the administration of merit, bonus and stock (Workday); market pricing (Bettercomp), and any other compensation related systems.
Ensure that jobs are properly documented and structured. Participates in compensation and salary budget surveys. Prepares salary data for submission, matches Empower positions to survey benchmarks, maintains documentation on participation and survey reports and assists in analyzing results.
Assists in the administration of the annual salary review cycle and the annual performance bonus cycle including managing timelines, auditing data, creating draft communications, creating and delivering training, supporting the Advanced Compensation module in Workday, meeting with senior leaders, and other responsibilities.
Maintains understanding of applicable laws and regulations including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, minimum wage, etc.
Assist in audits and reviews to ensure pay compliance.
Perform analysis on ad hoc requests and projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent HR and compensation experience.
3-4 years Compensation experience, preferably in a global environment.
Experience with variable pay plans, budget and structure activities, and job evaluation (market pricing methodology) preferred.
Proven analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Extremely detailed and accurate, coupled with the ability to see the broader picture.
Strong communication skills and the ability to easily and clearly convey data analysis into an understandable format.
Sound judgment and a high level of integrity with the ability address sensitive and confidential information, and make good decisions under pressure.
Team collaboration skills are a must.
Must be comfortable with general analytics and reporting methodologies.
Ability to sort and sift data and make logical conclusions.
Understanding of DOL/FLSA guidelines and its application.
Proven accuracy with data entry.
Systems knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc) is required. Intermediate-to-Advanced Excel skill is a plus.
Workday knowledge highly preferred and Workday Advanced Compensation desired.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is a plus.
Performs work in a normal office environment.
