The Role

The Clinical Director (MD/DO) at Geriatric Specialty Care combines clinical excellence with inspiring leadership, balancing direct patient care (50%) with provider management and supervision (50%) responsibilities. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced physician to deliver exceptional care to seniors while developing and leading a talented team of healthcare providers in our innovative in-home care model.

Clinical Responsibilities (50% of Time)

  • Establish meaningful patient relationships through comprehensive Welcome Visits and develop personalized Care Plans covering goals, diagnoses, medications, and advanced care planning.
  • Ensure timely completion of Annual Wellness Visits focused on preventive care and comprehensive documentation.
  • Provide seamless clinical coverage during provider absences, maintaining continuity of care.
  • Conduct patient assessments, medication management, and follow-up care with a focus on geriatric-specific needs.
  • Respond promptly to urgent medical and behavioral health concerns to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations.
  • Conduct post-discharge visits for patients transitioning from acute or skilled nursing facilities.
  • Adapt workflows to accommodate urgent care needs while maintaining quality preventive services.

Leadership Responsibilities (50% of Time)

  • Lead and develop a team of 6-8 healthcare providers through regular performance reviews, mentorship, and professional development
  • Ensure providers meet key metrics, including patient visit targets, documentation timeliness, and care gap closures
  • Optimize provider schedules and panel assignments
  • Drive community growth by attending pipeline meetings, leading implementation kickoffs, and building relationships with senior living facility staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community partners, addressing concerns promptly and fostering collaborative relationships.

NP/PA Supervision

  • Serve as the designated supervising physician for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in full compliance with state regulations and organizational protocols
  • Deliver expert clinical consultation to primary care providers, ensuring delivery of evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Maintain continuous accessibility via telecommunication for immediate clinical consultations and decision support
  • Orchestrate dynamic weekly case conferences to address complex clinical presentations and innovative treatment strategies
  • Spearhead monthly interdisciplinary collaborative rounds focused on high-acuity patients, fostering knowledge exchange and comprehensive care coordination
  • Conduct quarterly in-person clinical shadowing sessions, providing targeted mentorship and professional development opportunities
  • Execute systematic chart audits to ensure clinical excellence, documentation integrity, and adherence to best practices

What We're Looking For

  • MD or DO with an active, unencumbered Nevada medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Board certification through ABMS or AOA in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
  • Specialization in Geriatrics is considered a significant advantage
  • Valid DEA Certificate and Nevada Controlled Substance License
  • Active Medicare status without exclusions or sanctions
  • Minimum of TWO years as a practicing physician
  • Preferred minimum of one year collaborating with Advanced Practice Practitioners
  • Demonstrated expertise in geriatric healthcare settings and chronic disease management
  • Proven leadership experience mentoring healthcare professionals
  • Exceptional clinical assessment skills with the ability to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Outstanding communication abilities for effective interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems and digital documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in fast-paced healthcare environments
  • Willingness to obtain additional state licenses for collaborative opportunities as needed

Travel is required for this role. You must have the ability to drive between partner facilities regularly.
