About the Role
We are seeking a detail oriented and disciplined capital markets analyst to support and grow our capital markets function focused on residential real estate lending . You’ll be a part of a fast-paced environment, interacting closely with capital markets loan investors (such as Nomura Securities, PIMCO and others), Sundae accounting/finance and internal lending ops teams. This role is fully remote and will report into our Accounting/Finance Department. The ideal candidate thrives in a start-up environment, with the ability to scope and execute projects and tasks independently with high attention to detail. You’ll need to have strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- This person will be responsible as the primary point of daily contact for our capital markets loan investor and warehouse line provider
- Prepare and submit closed loan spreadsheets to our warehouse lender for financing
- Review the warehouse borrowing base (how much of the loan amount we can borrow against) to confirm it is being calculated in accordance with our warehouse agreements
- Prepare monthly servicer report setting out loan level interest collections and payoffs and verify the monthly payment waterfall on the warehouse line
- Review daily company cash position and borrow as needed on our warehouse line
- Track borrowings on each loan financed on our warehouse line; notify warehouse line provider of loan payoffs/paydowns
- Prepare loan sale spreadsheets and send to our loan investors to offer closed loans for purchase
- Partner with lending ops teams to clear loan sale documentation requirements and loan exceptions
- Prepare settlement statements for all loan sales, along with other operational items such as preparing bailee letter, collateral release request, etc
- Prepare loan level interest accrual calculations for accounting
- Creation of ad hoc analytics and presentations
About You
- Recent college graduate with a 4 year undergraduate degree in finance, mathematics, business, economics, statistics, engineering or similar
- Preferred 2+ years of experience in capital markets, banking or FP&A roles at an organization that participates in the residential real estate lending
- Self starter with the ability to effectively time manage and complete assignments accurately
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; very high attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
