We have an exciting opportunity to join Sanofi at our new Cambridge Crossing research campus as a Scientist. We are seeking someone with experience in respiratory and dermatology research to join our Type 2 Immunity & Dupixent Research Group within the Immunology & Inflammation Research Therapeutic Area. The candidate will work with a team of scientists to help drive breakthroughs in mechanisms of action, targeting strategies, and biomarkers and therapeutic responses in pre-clinical models. The candidate will work closely with other disciplines across Sanofi to drive early discovery research programs into early clinical development, providing scientific and technical leadership.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Experienced in type 2 inflammatory diseases.

  • Develop novel strategies, methods and technologies to conduct experiments and analytical procedures to model type 2 dermatologic and respiratory diseases, applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts.

  • Coordinate research efforts and make key technical contributions affecting the direction and progression of the project.

  • Regularly contributes at the project team level as a full participant. Influences at the project team level.

  • Identifies and develops scientific activities to support short-term and long-term operational goals.

  • Develop and characterize innovative preclinical models (in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo) that enable the interrogation of mechanism of action, proof of concept and biomarker identification of immune therapies dedicated to drug discovery and development projects.

  • Provide and promote support for operational excellence according to Sanofi values and ethics.

  • Prepare publications, presentations and reports as required in accordance with Sanofi quality standards.

  • Provides informal and formal mentoring withing project team.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus minimum 6 years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting OR Master’s Degree plus minimum 3 years of relevant research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting OR PhD. No Post doc experience required.

  • Consistent record of publications, patents, external presentations in respiratory or dermatology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with organoid models of human disease is highly desirable.

  • Experience working with human biopsy/ explant is highly desirable.

  • Experience within the fields of dermatology and/or respiratory is highly desirable.

  • Experience performing multi-parameter flow cytometry using BD and Bio-Rad or Cytek cell analyzers is highly desirable.

  • Experience mentoring other scientists is preferred.

  • Strong people organizational and presentation skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills; track record of success working collaboratively across disciplines.
