Purpose of the Job:
The Senior Tax Expert Executive is Safeguard the resources of the company by managing tax risks and monitoring compliance on all tax returns, coordinating with tax authorities on routine tax related matters, and providing assistance in handling tax audits and possible tax assessments.
This role will support the Account-to-Report Lead in ensuring the enforcement of accounting standards and reliability of the data collected from management, controllers, tax department and other end-to-end processes.
Apart from that, this role will require active participation in driving Account-to-Report continuous improvement initiatives.

Tax Compliance Matters
Responsible for the renewal of business permits & other government registrations
Responsible for ensuring Computerized Accounting System (CAS) permit is updated
Coordinate with tax authorities on routine tax-related issues (e.g. submission of reportorial requirements, obtaining tax clearance, etc.)
Review and reconciliation of Tax Returns and Reports to be submitted to the Tax Authorities and related government agencies
Perform closing activities for tax related accounts
Provide tax advisories on accounting and processing of transactions with impact on tax compliance
Provide analysis for Tax Forecast
Review and analyze the deferred VAT account
Maintain tax returns file and documentation for easy access during internal and external audit reviews
Assist in the review and compilation of the following:
Documents for the filing of requests for tax ruling
Schedules & analyses for tax audits
Documents required in the preparation of protest letters for Letter Notices (LN) and Letters of Authority (LOA) from BIR/LGU
Monitor status of tax audit (from receipt of LOA to closing of audit), request for tax ruling (from filing to receipt of ruling), and other tax related matters
Prepare and analyze taxes for reporting/remittance to comply with tax regulations
Handle requests from internal and external stakeholders
Accounts Reconciliation and Reporting
Responsible for conducting the timely reconciliation of GL accounts under Tax Compliance scope and handling the action points to ensure that balances are current and correct
Prepare and submit reports within set deadlines in compliance with Region and Corporate reportorial requirements
Project Management / Support
Lead projects to improve tax process efficiency and quality of output
Embed tax audit readiness in all tax processes
Provide support and tax advisories for specific projects lead by other teams
Attend monthly touchpoint for tax governance with Tax Manager
Handles tasks related to tax governance to enhance working knowledge on Tax Governance with impact on Tax Compliance
Trainings & Awareness
Organize and facilitate tax clinics/trainings on Tax Compliance, Tax Audit Readiness, Tax Updates and other related matters.
Perform monthly New Employee Orientation (NEO) on Invoicing Requirements
Provide awareness and monitor compliance of business partners/vendors on invoicing requirements.
Internal Control and Processes
Review and ensure that processes within scope complies with group and local policies. Implement action plan to improve the robustness of the process when necessary.
Ensure mandatory controls are in place and aligned with Internal Control framework and global policies.
Make recommendations and implement process improvements in order to simplify workflow within the team.
Organization and People Development
Regularly review, assess and coach Tax Compliance team in order to best optimize available resources.
Develop a high-performance and collaborative culture within the team in order to ensure succession for all direct reports and that high potential candidates have a clear career path.
Responsible in complying and meeting all HSE roles and responsibilities in accordance with the existing HSE policy.
Support A2R Lead in monitoring performance on a continuous basis against agreed SLAs and define corrective actions, where necessary
Identify and articulate improvement areas across processes and technology – including ERP and other tools and solutions.
Contribute to customer satisfaction initiatives, including regular assessment of service satisfaction across Country Finance and other stakeholders.
Experience: Relevant years of experience in handling tax compliance, project management, and coordination on reportorial and regulatory requirements with LGU, BIR, SEC and other related government agencies, 3 years of which is in a supervisory position.
Working experience in a customer-facing and service-oriented corporate position
Working experience in Taxation matters
Working experience in a Finance shared services environment.
Technical skills: Knowledgeable in SAP FICO
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA
Languages: English and Filipino
Working knowledge on accounting standards - Philippines Local standards and IFRS
Tax knowledge (compliance Direct and indirect tax)
