About the job

Country Communications Manager is responsible for development and execution of internal and external strategic communications plan to enhance Sanofi’s corporate reputation, support the business priorities, as well as drive employee engagement in Sanofi Thailand.

This role works in close collaboration with Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore (TMS) Communications Team and TMS Leadership Team to ensure “one voice” effective communications through various communications channels and alignment with business roadmap and priorities.

Main responsibilities:

Internal Communications (including Employee Engagement & Executive Communications)

  • Responsible for corporate internal communications strategy, execution and reviews.

  • Implement impactful internal communications programs/activities to increase understanding of the company’s strategic priorities/objectives in a timely manner.

  • Drive consistent internal storytelling & related communications projects to promote Play to Win behaviors e.g. health and well-being projects, DE&I, EVP, Sanofi Cup, WeVolunteer and related initiatives.

  • Ensures that the Country Lead & respective GMs communicate and connect with employees regularly, with appropriate key messages and materials, and in a timely manner.

  • Works collaboratively with other departments for various parts of this role – culture shaping, reward & recognition, awareness campaigns (co-create or facilitate), etc.

  • Ensures that the right communication channels are used for maximum impact.

  • Ensures that Thailand project achievements & people regularly feature on global internal forums/ platforms.

  • Facilitates roll-out of global campaigns and also feeds back to global teams on information/ content that they might require on a timely basis.

  • Manage the budget optimally for maximum impact.

  • Maintains archives of corporate material – including photographs and videos.

Corporate Branding

  • Custodian of brand guidelines and corporate branded material for internal use.

  • Proactively identify media opportunities that support corporate communications strategies helping to highlight Sanofi as a leading healthcare company

  • Manage PR agencies and event organizing agencies, and ensure the delivery of the desired results in a timely and cost-effectiveness manner

  • Set up long term CSR strategy, framework and flagship program, aligned to local needs & global CSR vision for Sanofi

Executive Communications

  • Define an editorial calendar that outlines the thought leadership opportunities for the spokespersons

  • Explore platforms that recognize the efforts of Sanofi including awards

  • Organize message trainings for spokespersons

Communications Business Partnering

  • Act as a key point of contact for the business teams.

  • Ensure effective external communications plan are delivered to maximize business opportunities and to help effectively shape the external environment and strengthen Sanofi’s reputation.

  • Support all business units in promoting disease awareness and product-related activities through all media channels and external stakeholder engagement programs

  • 24x7 action (monitoring and coordinating team to develop plan, craft and approve messages) during crisis and coordination with local and global teams to ensure that the media reports are (a) minimized and (b) balanced and fair.

  • Handle all requests, either internal or external, related to communications, branding, sponsorships, exhibitions, etc. for the business.

  • Will provide inputs to Country Chair/ GMs for overall corporate messaging and for owned channels.

Issues & Crisis Communications

  • Effective day-to-day media monitoring in order to identify threats and opportunities for Sanofi corporate reputation

  • Develop holding statements and frequently asked questions in response to issues and crises

  • Provide regular updates to the country council on issues and crises

About you

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Communications or related fields

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Communications with a strong exposure to businesses and support functions as well as regional exposure

  • Project Management skill is crucial. Be able to manage projects on their own with less supervision

  • International background with experience in multicultural work environment

  • Experience in creating engaging and innovative communications – from strategy through implementation, platforms, tools, etc.

  • Relevant years of demonstrated internal and external communications experiences in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry and regional exposure is would be a plus in this role.

  • Excellent communication skills – especially storytelling ability.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, networking skills, ideas and execution excellence

  • Good at multi-tasking and project management

  • Digital media, advertising and brand building – developing strategy, conceptualizing campaigns/ initiatives, creating content and measuring impact

  • Good understanding of different communication tools/platforms (technology, cost, ability to make in-house if required, which tool to use when, etc.)
