Position Title: Manager – Continuous Improvement - Vaccines

Key Responsibilities:

Support DTPPD Strategy - 10%

  • Continuously analyses the performance of the PCU and supports the performance & continuous improvement actions
  • Contributes to the definition of the PCU's trajectory with the PCU Leads and the CI (Continuous Improvement) Specialist Level 2 in line with the site's critical needs
  • Build lean (Sanofi Manufacturing System) standards in PCU to drive performance
  • Improve Data Governance at PCU level.

Drive Performance and Continuous Improvement - 50%

  • With the Area Management Build the PCU's annual performance plan (duration less than 1 year, action carried out by the PCU and specific to the PCU).
    • Collects and analyses performance data directly from Gemba or through the systems (deviations from standards, improvements, etc.)
    • Performs the costing and confirms the capture of gains
    • Performs follows up on the performance actions identified and the achievement of objective challenge, managing roadblocks & risk management
  • Ensures CI initiatives are delivered on-time and within established budgets, while delivering the committed value to the PCU performance
  • Provide leadership and coaching to ensure that PCU Performance deliver well defined and quantified outcomes
  • Through a strong Gemba presence, conducts regular Gemba's to coach the teams on waste identification and perform confirmation processes.
  • Contributes to the network with the community of continuous improvement specialists to align practices and advance SMS standards

Quality and Compliance - 30%

  • Ensure compliance with requirements of cGMP and the site quality programme
  • Fully completes departmental objectives and complies with budget targets
  • Meets safety and environmental performance
  • Ensure compliance to cGMP at all times

Strategy and Reporting - 10%

  • Reports/escalates issues and concerns to the DTPPD Leadership Team
  • Leads the PCU's continuous improvement meetings
  • Manages and updates KPIs/metrics related to continuous improvement as necessary
  • Provides monthly reports and updates on the status of CI initiatives and results to DTPPD Leadership Teams

HSE Requirement/Statement:

  • Works within the policies, procedures and regulations as required by the Company and under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Context of the job/Major challenges:

  • Drive Industrial excellence through initiation and management of continuous improvement activities to achieve the PCU’s Strategy and Ambition. The CI Specialist brings a high level of expertise and leadership in lean methodology, industrial performance, digital solutions, transformation and change management.
  • The main impact expected for the CI Specialist is to support the PCU to reach the targeted level of performance, improve efficiency, and deliver projects aligned with the area strategy.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • 5+ years in operational roles
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills are an asset
  • Experience in Team Leadership would be an asset
  • Experience in Project management would be an asset
  • Experience in Manufacturing would be an asset
