JOB PURPOSE

The Zone Medical Lead is a Senior management role that drives and co-ordinates the Zone brand relevant medical activities namely setting up & championing a Medical Strategic plan, owning HCP relevant engagements, setting up differentiated & superiority claims assessments, supports Key Switch and Digital priorities. They will evaluate and define a brand approach for science value creation across county teams relating to their brands ensuring clear priorities are defined, in alignment with Zone Science Hub Head, Zone Brand Lead & Key cross functional stakeholders.

The Zone Medical lead will:

  • Lead and implement Medical Affairs Strategies for Allegra/Telfast (Global brand), and Cenovis (Local brand) responsible brands to support the overall brand and business goals.
  • Evaluate & define a brand approach for medical value creation across teams, ensuring clear priorities are defined at a local level to support the activation plans.
  • Unmet medical needs analysis and recommendations
  • Lead and support the evidence generation/claims projects for the brands they are responsible for including but not limited to RWE, clinical studies and non-interventional studies.
  • Lead and co-ordinate the medical events, HCP/consumer education activities in the Zone & Locally in the Vietnam.
  • Optimize on cross-functional support within the organization, ensuring effective medical strategies.
  • Support in developing and implementing value-added processes, best practices and tools to increase efficiency and contribute to the operational excellence of Medical Affairs.
  • Foster an environment/culture of learning and sharing of best practice within the team.
  • Develop a high performing team by developing capabilities and competencies across key functions across the Zone.

KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Zone Medical Lead will:

Medical Strategy Plan:

  • Own the zone brand medical strategy.
  • Evaluate & define a brand medical value creation across key markets, ensuring clear priorities are defined at a local level.
  • Actively shape the regional or local business direction through input into the zone or local CHC Leadership Team
  • Promote scientific innovation opportunities across our portfolio through proactive cross-functional working of team members in contributing to global strategic medical brand plans or developing local product strategic medical brand plans that align with brand direction
  • Openly exchange with internal & external stakeholders to build on innovative concepts
  • Ensure appropriate representation & collaboration within Extended Global Brand Medical Teams
  • Drive delivery of medical commitments at a local level by clearly defining the desired outcome(s) from prioritized activities defined in medical strategies, and define operational milestones to deliver on these medical commitments
  • Key activities include – developing insights / anticipating trends, identified & executing on science inspired innovation opportunities (claim enhancement, product development, life cycle management, medical evaluation of BD opportunities, local switch opportunities), scientific endorsement & stakeholder management, risk mitigation.
  • Ensure CHC Medical governance is implemented and ensure company/industry standards are maintained at all times
  • Build a fast acting, collaborative & innovative CHC Medical Affairs culture
  • Co-ordinate for innovative and inclusive medical events (ISPs, Ad boards, patient educations activities) across zone.
  • Co-ordinate with global KOLs for international speaker events for arranging activities across zone.
  • Support in developing effective HCP interactions in Medical events through digital activity dashboard
  • Promote scientific innovation opportunities across our portfolio through proactive cross-functional working of team members in contributing to global strategic medical brand plans or developing local product strategic medical brand plans that align with brand direction
  • Support in developing and implementing value-added processes, best practices and tools to increase efficiency and contribute to the operational excellence of Medical Affairs across zones.
  • Foster an environment/culture of learning and sharing of best practice within the team.

Innovation

  • Provide scientific intelligence and support evaluation of new products for the allocated brands across zone.
  • Support global local collaboration for effective innovation plan as per business needs.
  • Support product optimization strategies as per business goals.

Evidence Generation/ Claims

  • Support in identifying needs and opportunities of clinical studies (regional, local) in expertise according to strategy.
  • Support local/regional teams for study approval process by collaborating with local & global SRC.
  • Support the development of real-world data and analytics capabilities and utilization, and lead in applying advanced methodologies and tools to generate novel insights and actions.
  • Ensure the processing of the clinical data of the medical projects and support in the elaboration and/or the evaluation of their publication.
  • Own the execution of RWE studies for Cenovis and execute for Allegra; effectively communicate the findings and study results to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead and coordinate with countries for efficient claims generation ecosystem across zone.

Lead and Co-ordinate Medical information activities across the Zone.

  • Support local MI teams for analyzing the need for new standard response documents, as well as the usage and trends of existing standard response documents and unique responses.
  • Coordinate with local teams for pertinent information for documentation of inquiries and triages adverse drug events and product complaints to respective department(s) to comply with regulatory guidelines.
  • Support for maintaining compliance with all applicable policies and procedures by ensuring all plans and activities for Medical Information are implemented within industry practices and the highest ethical standards.

Manage budget and portfolio management across your Zone brands.

  • Manage medical budget for brands.
  • Management of budget for clinical trials, scientific dissemination, advisory board meetings, claims project and science projects.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Medical Doctor or Pharmacist with minimum 5 years' experience.

Required knowledge and/or experience

  • Extensive experience in medical including management roles, and experience in a global function, more than one region or key country with minimum of 5 or more years' experience
  • Excellent understanding of the consumer healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, drug development environment, and R&D processes and objectives
  • Knowledge of the local Consumer Health environment (regulatory, regional Industry Associations, Public & Government affairs) would be an advantage
  • Expert knowledge of consumer healthcare regulations and requirements, Health Authorities regulations and ability to evaluate impact of those regulations within the drug development environment and to lead discussions of the requirements and its impacts within submission teams
  • Demonstrated success in partnering and influencing across a matrix environment with exceptional executive communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Sanofi systems and tools would be an advantage

  • Fluent spoken and written English and Korean
