JOB PURPOSE:

This position will play a key role in ensuring for CHC A2R Tax process set up and improvement both local and GBS level.

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Deliver Tax ledger monthly closing and tax services to CHC GBS in the Region as per group timetable

  • Supervise tax calculations including indirect taxes (VAT, WHT, Intrastat and others), MyTax, country income tax, deferred tax calculation and preparation of tax returns

  • Provide technical accounting services in the area of expertise - functional and technical support across A2R processes and systems and drive projects for all CHC entities

  • Provide A2R Master Data management services (PCoA, tax MD)

  • Support country Heads of Finance Operations on tax matters

  • Monitor transition progress with sharing the best practices from the previous waves

  • Overview progress in (FtS, FtG) gap analysis and stabilization of migrated processes

  • Monitor procedures for the country specificities are in place

  • Monitor procedures for compliance and internal controls are in place

  • Recognizes and communicates potential risks/issues with HFOs

  • Interfaces with different teams to ensure compliance with cross-team accountabilities

  • Providing guidance and support to the team members in high-complexity issues

  • Address operational issues and follow through to resolution in an effective and timely manner

  • Monitor operational KPIs and compliance with CHC policies and guidelines

  • Supervise the team of Hub accountants

  • Drive continuous improvement

A2R Regional Tax Compliance Manager reports to A2R GBS Head of Hub in the region and works closely with A2R Tax Accounting Lead, CHC Country Head of Finance Operations, CHC Country Senior Accounting Partner, Finance (Finance Performance, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control), IFSA, Supply Chain, MARCO team, other GBS departments.

They will review and monitor technical process implementation, controls and compliance in all topics related to closing and reporting, and respective area of accounting. This also involves collaborating with ITS to implement new or existing tools in CHC LE.

A2R Regional Tax Compliance Manager is accountable that standardized processes are implemented across region, contribute to defining core business processes and way of working, harmonization of ITS Tool landscape, simplification of user experience following global frame and guidelines. There will be involvement with GBS processes delivery and improvements and will jointly monitorise targets and projects implemented by GBS.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver tax services to CHC GBS within perimeter

  • Ensure corporate reporting (MyTax) is done on time according to closing calendar

  • Supervise tax calculations, including deferred tax and preparation of tax returns

  • Review A2R Master Data quality and consistency in perimeter (PCoA, tax MD)

  • Define and drive accounting, process and systems changes operationally and facilitate A2R service delivery

  • Liaise with A2R Global Tax Accounting Lead, or A2R GBS GPE Lead, to cover specific or non-recurring subjects related to accounting or financial issues at A2R level (new IFRS regulation etc.)

  • Ensure that all recurring and non-recurring items are collected, accounts reconciled and Manual Journal Entries (MJE) booked

  • Supervise preparation of tax reporting at Group and country levels

  • Supervise prepare of ad-hoc reports and analysis

  • Manage external relations including tax authorities’ queries or audits

  • Ensure compliance of processes, transactions and reports with CHC/Corporate accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements

  • Monitor operational KPIs to pro-actively manage execution issues

  • Supervise and coach the team of accountants

  • Provide expertise and coaching

  • Anticipate workload and allocate resources for effective and efficient delivery

  • Select and hire employees with relevant expertise

  • Evaluate employee performance, determine training needs, develop talent

  • Address performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actions

  • Motivate and reward employees by recommending salary increases, bonuses and promotions

  • Demonstrate values of CHC business and culture of internal client

  • Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) relating to tax services

  • Contribute to development of Process vision, strategy and objectives defined globally.

  • Gather and apply best practice to process

  • Support benchmarking activities and amend processes to achieve world class processing

  • Provide process expertise to relevant stakeholders as required and when needed

  • Review ITS tool and make proposal to improve, reduce # tools when needed

  • Improve user experience to perform their job more efficiently

  • Communicates with Hub management.

  • Contribute to implementation of policies and procedures governing processes. Propose change in policies and procedures supporting optimized processes.

  • Ensure Compliance and Internal Control/ SOX standards are met.

Expected Skills

  • Degree in Tax/ Accounting or equivalent

  • Tax qualification is a plus

  • 5-10 years experience in tax accounting preferably in an international multicultural environment

  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end A2R and Tax processes and GBS organization

  • Understanding of IFRS and local GAAPs

  • Strong problem solving, research & resolution, data analysis skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Effective collaboration skills with peers, stakeholders and partners in a shared service environment

  • High level of Interpersonal/ communication skills with an ability to communicate and present at different levels of the organization

  • Strong analytical skills to resolve critical issues and ensure programs stay on track

  • Strategic thinking and process impact understanding

  • Change agent with strong problem-solving skills

  • Transversal mindset and ability to work across processes, geographies, languages, cultures, business maturity levels

  • Fluency in English mandatory and other European languages are desirable
