Main responsibilities:

• Drive improved productivity by utilizing modern advancements such as genAI.
• Develop high-performance, highly available, and scalable applications with a micro-services architecture and an understanding of observability.
• Demonstrate a deep technical understanding of modern internet architectures and frameworks.
• Exhibit a passion for learning and the ability to learn quickly.
• Assist with practices and principles to ensure adoption across teams, as well as measuring and maintaining maturity.
• Approach problem-solving systematically, with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
• Help grow and develop our engineering culture.
• Lead the vision, strategy, and values within the team and across the Digital Accelerator.
• Build out innovative technology competencies.
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.

About you:

• Experience leading a small group of software engineers, evaluating performance, and providing actionable feedback.
• Experience working with distributed teams.
• Diverse programming language experience preferred.
• Experience scaling systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolving systems to improve reliability and velocity.
• Experience working with both technical and non-technical colleagues in a cross-functional, interdisciplinary environment, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multiple teams inside a global engineering team.
• High energy, confidence, and ambition.
• Passionate communicator, willing to challenge and enhance ideas while preserving relationships, with an interest in multiple aspects of technology.
• Personal ownership of tasks with a tenacious approach to problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Service-oriented, flexible, positive team player.

Technical skills:

• Comfortable working with a micro-services approach.
• Key technologies we use: GraphQL, Node.js, React.js, AWS services including Lambda, S3, RDS, SNS, DynamoDb, and genAI technologies like AWS Q and Chat-GPT.
• Open-minded about technology preferences and willing to explore new technologies and strategies.

Education:

• MS in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
