Within Sanofi, the Procurement function is a powerhouse maximizing savings to fund the company’s future growth. he Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical and Digital) leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation. The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€ with a special focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.

For the Professional Services (PS) Domain, the Regional Category Manager (RCM), for International & Asia regions, is responsible for leading a pool of 12 buyers and developing & executing regional sourcing strategies according to global category management strategies & business partner's needs. It should represent 90% of his/her working time.

This position will report to the Global Head of Strategic PS Domain Operations.

The RCM International & Asia will also be the Hub Manager for Budapest procurement community, Cross Domains. He/she will be the Local Procurement Single point of contact for overseeing a pool of 100 buyers, especially to facilitate onboarding, offboarding, interactions with other departments including P2P & People and Culture functions creating a sense of united working team. It should represent 10% of his/her working time.

For PS RCM position, the overall spend under his/her supervision is about +400M€ spend, and the main categories are:

  • External Workforce (temporary workers, managed services, recruitment services)

  • Real Estate and Workplace Services (Real Estate leasing design works & Fit out, workplace Furnitures, Facility Management, Building Maintenance, Security Services, Working Garments, Personal Protective Equipment, Office Supplies, Translation)

  • Human Resource Services (Rewards & Performance, Car fleet, Learning & Development, Business Process Outsourcing)

  • Corporate Services (Travel, Consulting, insurance, Legal & Financial services)

Main Responsibilities:

Strategy & Governance :

  • Adapt, implement & execute competitive and innovative global category strategies, based on market intelligence: assessing risks and opportunities, fully aligned on budget & LRPs, delivering value to the business

  • Identify and engage at regional level the lead specifiers from the businesses

  • Deliver world class total savings objectives at regional and country level

  • Ensure mastery of procurement technical excellence through your team operations & development (Total Cost of Ownership, Supplier Relationship Management, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality)

Operations Management :

  • Contribute and build within her/his network an ambitious budget and LRP/Strat Plan according to stakeholders’ priorities and participate to cross domain reviews

  • Step-in in the key regional negotiations as well as any major country projects and/or supplier issues

  • Drive the development of new market opportunities (new suppliers, technologies, substitution products, etc.)

  • Set-up and drive Supplier Relationship Management program at regional and country level

  • Develop and implement solid Business engagement plans with the GBUs, the Procurement Centre of Excellence and Business Operations

  • Set up appropriate governance with PS category managers to ensure proper regional execution of global strategies

  • Organize & develop effectively your team to answer business demand vs capabilities /capacities

  • For Hub management role, develop a procurement roadmap aligned with Hub’s objectives, be the voice of procurement, attend formal meeting cross function every month and pro-actively contribute to develop the Hub procurement community

Stakeholder Management :

  • Ensure with Global Procurement Operations (Country Procurement Heads), the proper business partnering in countries & regions, as it pertains to their respective categories

  • Engage upfront Senior regional leaders of Global Business Units and Support Functions

  • Leverage Country Procurement Heads to ensure procurement strategies are applicable at local level

Procurement risk management, Compliance, Ethics and CSR :

  • Lead Audit management, ensure compliance with code of ethics, ensure meeting all targets for diversity, environment and inclusion. Aggressively promote sustainable sourcing.

People Management

  • Secure the proper resources allocation and means according to PS domain’s & category’s own objectives as well as business priorities

  • Onboard, develop and manage regional buyers and other resources under their responsibility

  • Set up a Flexible and agile PS operating model in the regions in scope, with your pool of buyers being able to manage all PS categories in scope of the domain. These buyers having a dedicated category expertise while supporting all PS procurement service's needs when required. This model will contribute to adjust the demand of the business with the procurement capacity in the regions and will support talent development.

  • Ensure procurement management excellence: regional category team management allocation, regional lead specifiers collaborative relationship, usage & leverage of procurement academy, talent management…

About you

Experience : 10+ years of relevant experience in a multi-national environment

Soft Skills/Technical skills :

  • Strong Knowledge of best-in-class Procurement techniques and processes

  • Proven team leadership records for leading multi-cultural teams with complexity

  • Possesses strong competency in networking across various stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes

  • Proven ability to influence across all management levels and across Business functions

  • Demonstrable skills in leading and deploying change management initiatives related to accountabilities of the role

  • Strong communicator with ability to adapt style and approach according to audience

  • Consistency of focus upon delivery of outcomes and results

  • High level of analytical skills and ability to utilize tools/systems accordingly

  • Ability to work independently to multiple timescales on multiple concurrent priorities/projects

  • Able to quickly assimilate new information/skills and then disseminate to others in an easily understood fashion

  • Holds an international and multicultural mindset and experience

  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to challenge the status quo

  • Role model in compliance and ethics

Education : Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university

Languages: Fluent in English is a must, other local/Regional languages would be a plus
