Within the Specialty Care Business Unit, the Oncology Value & Access team’s vision is to optimize oncology access for all products to deliver sustainable value for patients and healthcare partners.
Key Dimensions Of The Role: Scope & Scale
The Director, Value and Access, Hematology & Oncology New Product Planning is responsible for working within the Specialty Care Market Access portfolio to lead, develop and execute the market access strategy for new launches. In the near term, the focus is SARCLISA’s 1L NDMM indication and subcutaneous/ On-body device formulation, as well as advancing U.S. V&A input into Global New Product Planning for an asset in AML.
The individual will develop the value narrative across market access channels and various levels of population-based decision makers within the Oncology landscape, working collaboratively with cross-functional partners such as marketing, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, payer field teams and Key Account Management team to execute access initiatives and gain/ maintain optimal product coverage and inclusion in account level nodes of management. The candidate should have experience & high level of knowledge in market access, distribution strategy, reimbursement, and policy, and demonstrated ability to develop and execute pricing and contracting strategies.
The candidate is expected to demonstrate independent strategic thinking, accountability, and urgency for defined areas of responsibility. He/she will identify and coach/develop internal rotational colleagues in support of tactical execution of aforementioned strategies. The role will provide regular insights and updates to key internal stakeholders on important market access trends and issues and contribute to strategic portfolio projects and capability building for the organization.
This position is preferred to be based in Cambridge, MA and will report to the Executive Director, Value and Access (Oncology).
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead and execute market access strategy for SARCLISA in non-transplant newly diagnosed multiple myeloma including post-launch value proposition and derivative tools/ resources for Payer and KAM teams
Finalize pricing and contracting strategy for SC/ On-body device
Develop population-based decision maker (PBDM) materials for unbranded disease awareness campaigns, pre-approval information exchange (as applicable based on product/ indication lifecycle) and branded tactics for pull-through activities
Create actionable analytics at the plan and geographical level in order to measure access performance (payer coverage, account level inclusion – P&T/ Formulary, Pathways, Treatment Plans/ Order sets in EMR)
Lead integration of U.S. market access input into Oncology pipeline asset development from Phase 1 forward in close coordination with Global NPP teams
Interface with consumer and HCP marketing colleagues to understand customer needs and insights and ensure bilateral exchange of strategic information
Identify product and organizational gaps and opportunities and determine solutions with a mindset toward innovation, marketplace evolution, and disruptive access tactics
About you
Critical Experiences Required To Be Successful In The Role
In addition to exhibiting the play-to-win behaviors:
10+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience in progressing roles including U.S. experience and Marketing
6+ years of Market Access experience such as Payer Marketing, Account Management, Organized Customer or GPO Strategy and Marketing
Market access or Marketing launch experience in Oncology or specialty care
Ability to navigate and build consensus in a matrix environment; agile & accountable
Strong financial/analytical skills

Education and Work Experience:
Minimum level of job-related education: Bachelor’s degree, MBA or other graduate level degree preferred
Ability to proactively analyze business problems, identify key issues, develop strategic solutions, implement tactical programs, and design metrics to measure business impact
Strong communication skills and appreciation of positive team culture
Previous supervisory experience in commercial (Market access, Marketing) with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence
Commercialization experience in Oncology (IV oncolytics a plus)
