Sanofi Belux has a great opportunity for a Patient Engagement Manager. We consider our patients as one of our key stakeholders. This means that you, as part of the public affairs team, contribute significantly to bring the patient’s voice in the public debate and include the patient perspective in all our activities.

You empower patients to be heard and to safeguard they get the health solutions to cover their unmet medical needs. In this way, you connect and collaborate with patient associations to optimize the patient access in our areas of expertise.

You represent the patient voice internally and coordinate with different internal stakeholders such as commercial, medical, market access and communication.

Main responsibilities:

Patient Engagement (Primary Focus):

  • Develop and maintain relationships with patient advocacy groups and key opinion leaders in the healthcare sector based on a patient advocacy plan.
  • Represent Sanofi at patient advocacy events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure patient perspectives are considered in product development, clinical trials, and marketing strategies.
  • Monitor and report on patient advocacy trends and issues relevant to Sanofi's therapeutic areas.
  • Set up and implement projects, programs and activities on the level of education, diagnosis, monitoring and (home care) treatment, which contribute to improved patient care;

Patient Communication:

  • Develop and implement patient communication strategies in collaboration with marketing and medical teams.
  • Create and review patient-facing materials to ensure they are clear, accurate, and compliant with regulations.
  • Monitor digital patient engagement initiatives, including social media and online patient communities, and use as a leverage to let the patient’s voice to be heard
  • Identify patient needs via patient associations and health care professionals

Patient Support Programs:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve patient support programs
  • Ensure all patient programs comply with Sanofi's ethical standards, industry codes of practice, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Medical, Marketing, Safety, Legal, and Quality departments on patient program initiatives.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), healthcare organizations (HCOs), and medical and scientific associations (MSAs).
  • Ensure all interactions with stakeholders are compliant with Sanofi policies and regulations.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of patient advocacy initiatives and support programs.
  • Utilize tools like the Patient Programs Tracker to manage and analyze patient program data

About you

To excel in this role you will need to have:

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master in (para)medical sciences;
  • 5-7 years relevant experience in a pharma environment;
  • Can interact independently with patient associations, identifies needs and makes plans for addressing them, within the legal framework;
  • Project management skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to influence in a proactive, objective and diplomatic manner;
  • Integrity and self-awareness;
  • Excellent command of Dutch, French and English both orally and written.
