Do you excel in building strong relationships, driving strategic growth and leading high performing teams? As the Channel Lead- Grocery, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring successful collaboration between Opella and our Grocery customers (Coles, Woolworths, Metcash, Costco, Aldi P&C). Your strategic vision, leadership, and Grocery expertise will be critical in building partnerships to achieve sales and profit targets, grow market share, and create mutual value. Your proven cross-functional track record in Sales and Marketing within the FMCG sector and ability to demonstrate strategic thinking will be key to success.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the strategic account plan for our Grocery Channel, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and driving growth in market share and profitability

  • Actively influence and engage with key stakeholders at key Grocery customers to ensure alignment with our strategic objectives and achievement of budget targets. Demonstrate dedication to shaping decisions and outcomes that support our financial goals

  • Manage, coach and mentor the Key Account team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring that team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to achieve their personal and business goals

  • Take an enterprise-wide view to leadership, driving collaboration and alignment across all internal teams and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate closely with marketing, and supply chain teams to develop and execute integrated strategies that drive brand visibility, customer engagement, and ensure stock availability and accurate demand forecasting

  • Work in partnership with supply chain teams to ensure optimal stock levels, forecast accuracy, and timely replenishment for Grocery customers. Lead efforts to integrate sales forecasts with supply chain operations to ensure seamless execution

  • Engage and manage relationships with internal stakeholders across different functions (e.g., supply chain, marketing, finance, operations) to ensure alignment and support for key account initiatives

  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement

  • Work with cross-functional teams to maximise the product portfolio for Grocery, ensuring that the right products are in the right stores at the right time

  • Oversee the Key Account team’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximum ROI on sales, promotion and retailer media activities

About you



Education:

  • Preferred Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain or related field

Experience:

  • Sales and Marketing background within the FMCG industry, with a strong focus on senior sales Leadership

  • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on taking an enterprise-wide approach to leadership

  • Strong understanding of the Australian retail landscape, particularly in relation to Woolworths and Coles

Technical & Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions

  • Demonstrated success in driving profitable growth and delivering against ambitious sales targets

  • Proactive leadership with a dedication to influencing key stakeholders to meet and exceed budget targets

  • Ability to manage internal stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
