We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Decarbonization Specialist to join our Sustainability Center of Excellence. The specialist will play a key role in mapping, understanding and reducing carbon emissions across our supply chain in partnership with our category leaders and suppliers.
This role requires basic expertise in carbon accounting and life-cycle analysis, chemicals and decarbonization strategies. A science degree is helpful.
You will work closely with internal category teams and our HSE function to help external suppliers understand their emissions contribution to our business, identify decarbonization levers, assess their cost implications, and drive fact-based strategies to achieve our decarbonization goals.

Main Responsibilities:
Carbon Footprint Mapping: Develop tools and methodologies to map carbon emissions across supplier tiers, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis. Identify high-impact areas in the supply chain.
Decarbonization Strategy Development: Assess and quantify decarbonization levers to develop aligned strategies with Sanofi goals and analyze cost implications through "should-cost" models.
Supplier Engagement: Collaborate with tier-1 suppliers to review emissions data, co-develop decarbonization plans, and monitor commitment to sustainability milestones, including SBTi targets.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Maintain databases to track emissions and decarbonization progress. Develop KPIs and prepare regular reports for senior management on initiative performance and cost-benefit outcomes.
Regulatory Compliance & Industry Trends: Advise teams on environmental regulations, carbon accounting standards, and emerging trends, integrating best practices into supply chain decarbonization efforts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (R&D, EHS, logistics) and external stakeholders (industry associations, consultancies, technology providers) to ensure cohesive and innovative decarbonization efforts.
Develop and deploy strategy for responsible sourcing (e.g. biodiversity/deforestation)
About You
Experience:
Over 5 years in supply chain management, procurement, or sustainability with expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), decarbonization, and carbon footprint management.
Proven success in supplier engagement and managing cross-tier supplier networks for carbon reduction initiatives.
Proficient in carbon accounting, decarbonization technologies, and sustainability certifications (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi, ISO standards, SBTN).
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (science degrees also considered); Master’s degree preferred.
Skills:
Experience in cost modeling and scenario analysis for sustainability projects.
Strong analytical skills for interpreting and communicating carbon emissions data.
Proficient in negotiation, communication, and project management for multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Strong communication, business acumen and stakeholder management skills
Languages:
Fluent in English.
