We are seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join our team as a Sustainable Sourcing Manager Raw Material category. In this pivotal role you will be responsible for the coordination of Sustainability Initiatives, working closely with suppliers, Global HSE & the Business to ensure that Sanofi’s CSR roadmap is on track. This role reports to the Head of Procurement Environmental Responsibility.

Main responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tools and methodologies for mapping carbon emissions across the raw material supplier chain, from tier-1 to tier-n suppliers
- Collect, analyze, and validate carbon emission data from suppliers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Identify key hotspots and high-impact areas across the supply chain, such as energy-intensive processes, transportation, and other emission sources
- Identify and assess decarbonization levers, including process improvements, renewable energy adoption, material substitutions, and efficiency improvements, collaborate with Sanofi and suppliers cross-functional teams to develop decarbonization strategies aligned with Sanofi sustainability goals and industry standards while sizing and quantify the impact and costs of decarbonization initiatives, creating a "should-cost" view for each lever
- Engage with tier-1 suppliers to review carbon footprint data, decarbonization plans, and sustainability commitments (in particular SBTi commitment), facilitate transparent discussions with suppliers to co-develop fact-based decarbonization glidepaths, driving mutual commitment to reducing emissions while supporting negotiation and monitor supplier commitments to ensure the implementation of decarbonization actions in line with agreed milestones and targets
- Build and maintain comprehensive databases for supplier carbon emissions, decarbonization progress, and cost implications, develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to track decarbonization and the development of other sustainability indicators' performance and identify areas for continuous improvement while preparing regular reports for senior management on the status of decarbonization initiatives, progress against targets, and cost-benefit analysis
- Stay up-to-date with relevant environmental regulations, carbon accounting standards, and industry peer group and best practices for sustainability with focus on decarbonization and biodiversity, advise the procurement and sustainability teams on emerging trends, new technologies, and innovative approaches to carbon reduction in the pharmaceutical supply chain while cross collaborating
About you
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or sustainability, with a focus on LCA, decarbonization or carbon footprint management
- Proven track record in supplier engagement and managing cross-tier supplier networks in carbon reduction initiatives
- Strong knowledge of carbon accounting methods, decarbonization technologies, and sustainability certifications (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi, ISO 14067, ISO 14040/44)
- Experience in cost modeling and scenario analysis for sustainability projects
Soft skills:
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and communicate complex carbon emissions data
- Proficiency in carbon footprint modeling tools and supply chain management software
- Strong negotiation, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to lead multi-stakeholder initiatives
- Self-driven, results-oriented, with a passion for sustainability and an ability to influence internal and external stakeholders towards common decarbonization goals
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. An excellent science degree can also qualify - a Master's degree is preferred
Languages:
- Fluency in English
